Stainless steel and plastic trowels for application and finishing
High-quality Japanese trowels are ideal for applying American Clay Plaster. These are what the pros use. The trowels come in stainless steel or plastic; flexible or rigid options and in the following sizes for small to large hands:
Use a large, rigid, square trowel for work on a base coat to cover a large area very quickly. Use a smaller pointed trowel for finishing work; it easily cuts into corners and effortlessly creates a delicate finish.
We recommend a plastic trowel for burnishing as it won't leave silver marks. We also recommend it when applying American Clay Porcelina — it'll be easier to achieve a smooth even result.
Although many people have older steel trowels, they're usually rusty and clunky. Once you try one of these refined Japanese trowels, you'll never go back. It turns troweling plaster into art work.
