We have put in for plywood flooring and stained with minwax stain. I'm looking for a durable varnish similar to oil based poly. We are looking for something super durable that dries hard to protect our flooring that does not require us to leave our house for days due to off gassing. Do you have any products you'd recommend? This product appears to be what I've been looking for to paint basement cinder block walls! Unfortunately, there is already a layer of failing paint on the walls that I have scraped/prepped. Do you have an alternative product you suggest for walls that include some bare block but some partially painted? View answer

I am wanting to block in as much off gassing as possible from new drywall in an entire house. Is this the best option for new drywall? I assume AFM paint would be the best to use with this primer, but could I also use ECOS paint with this primer? I just want to seal in as much as possible throughout my entire house. View answer

I have recently stripped some wallpaper and am now left with drywall that has some glue and quite a few little places where th drywall paper covering has pulled away. My understanding is that the conventional process to deal with this is to apply an oil based sales, then skim coat, then sand, then prime and paint. I am looking for something less toxic for the first two steps of this process(oil based sealer and skim coat with joint compound). Would this project work in lieu of the oil based sealer? If so, would it be ok to do a skim coat over it? View answer

I need to paint the steel beams in my basement We put our house in 30 years ago and never bothered to paint them and now it is obvious they need paint and I believe primer. Is your paint safe to use in a low ventilated area? I have fans and a couple of small windows. Will pilots need to be shut off prior to painting? Is the paint a paint and primer or is that 2 different products? View answer

I am doing a down to the studs remodel of a frame house in a humid environment, and plan to paint the entire frame structure with CIM&MI. Given the highly alkaline finished PH, what is the long term effect on all the fasteners it comes in contact with, such as nails. Also, what are the risks to tradesmen working on the structure after that, drilling holes, sawing, installing new framing, etc? View answer
