Wood Stains & Sealers Q&A
Activity timeframe
Since this is a low VOC product and not VOC free, doesn't it also emit at least low levels of VOCs into the air and if so, is there a timeline for it to stop? I would like to use this product over a "low VOC" finish on the interior of a buffet cabinet that is still off-gassing (the exterior is not), even after sitting in an open-air screened in porch for 8 months. it's lacquer finish is supposedly a low VOC product. We have a table being built from red oak to be a base for our farmhouse sink. This will go into our laundry room and be consistently used. I need a stain and a top coat. This is a nice combination of both, also being user green friendly is a bonus. Would this work for this project?Taking into consideration this table will not be outside, but inside. It needs to be waterproof. View answer

Hi Sasha,I asked earlier about the Rubio oil being adequate to seal formaldehyde. You said no and sent me a list of other products by AFM that would possibly work. The project involved is particle board walls which need to be sealed to be safe for me. Because I am so exquisitely sensitive to formaldehyde, it would need to be the best one. Can you let me know which one this would be? Thank you, Micheila View answer

Currently painting our interior hardwoods floors with porch and patio paint. The color is a cream/light grey color. We applied one coat of satin, water based polyurethane sealant and the floors turned yellow. Applied with roller as it is too large of an area to apply with brush. Tried to not apply too thick. Will your sealant NOT turn the floors yellow?? And can it be applied with a roller?? View answer

Does this yellow over time or will it yellow white painted cabinets? I will test beforehand but if a different product is better for using over newly painted white cabinets so that it doesn't yellow over time would love go know before I use. I will sample a piece beforehand so just let me know! View answer
