Hello I have moved into a man apartment with vinyl tiles and there is a heavy vinyl odour in two rooms. The tiles are very old and I see evidence of mold coming up through the seams in a few places. Its a rental and have no hope of the landlord checking the subflooring or replacing the tiles. Would this product work to seal the vinyl and also seal the seams? View answer

I have particle board kitchen cabinets in a place built over 30 years ago. Only surfaces visible when the cabinets are closed have a laminate veneer. The insides and presumably the bottoms and and backs are uncoated particle board. I want to seal the surfaces I can reach - the insides. I have a full leftover container of AFM Hard Seal from another project. I noticed Polyureseal BP did best at blocking formaldehyde in the tests on your website. Would you recommend Hard Seal, Acrylacq, or Polyureseal BP? View answer

Hi, I am seeking a plant based/environmental friendly sealer for my wood paintings. I use mineral and earth pigment paints, basically crushed pigment powder mixed with water. Would this be the recommended product to try on my pieces? I've used Acri-Soy in the past and it can smear the paints sometimes due to its consistency. My art is made with 100% plants so everything is an experiment, but I thought I would ask in case there may be a better suggestion. Thank you. View answer

I recently installed untreated pine on the ceiling in my bathroom. I am looking for a nontoxic seal that will protect the wood from water damage/molding etc. I don't intend to stain the wood. I only need to seal it. Is this an appropriate product for that? Thanks in advance. View answer

Hello. Would this product work on an earthen ( aka adobe) floor? The floor consists of 3 parts sand, 1 part native soil containing clay and finely chopped straw fragments which was then sealed with 5 coats of boiled linseed oil. We're looking to further protect the floor. Thanks View answer

I have installed pressure treated wood as the beams beneath my kitchen. The beams are at least 24 inches above the ground and have been treated with afm safe coat safe seal or hard seal I'm not sure which. But I had an allergic reaction to the wood chips that got on my sweater and am considering replacing the wood with pine. Would this product be correct for that? The house is in florida and is subject to termite infestation. Please advise. Thanks! View answer

My carpenters applied an oil based stain to my oak stair treads. Big mistake. It smells horrible. I did not apply oil based polyurethane yet because I realize that will smell even more! And water based polyurethanes don't work over oil based stains! Is there any healthier product I can cover my oil stained stair treads with? So far every product I see says do not apply over oil based stains. Is there any "low odor" oil based polyurethane product I can use? Or do I need to sand off the old oil stain and start again?? I bought an antique painted cabinet, painted green. I want to use it in the kitchen so I want to cover the paint with something. Is AFM SafeCoat Acrylacq a good choice? The description says "Raw wooden stained or previously painted cabinetry," Does that mean it can go on painted wood or wood that was painted and then had the paint removed??? Or is AFM SafeCoat, Polyureseal BP a better choice??? View answer

A neighbor made me a mailbox out of nice untreated pine in the shape of a barn. I need a treatment that will seal the mailbox so water doesn't get through to the inside, between each piece of wood used to form the barn shape. He did a terrific job, but I do worry about small leaks. Any suggestions? View answer
