Good Afternoon, Mr. Goj, I want to paint the interior of a terracotta pot to seal it with the AFM Safecoat DynoSeal (dark color). After decoupaging the exterior of the pot, I want to seal it with the AFM Polyureseal EXT Satin (clear color). Is there a certain temperature range, they should be applied? And a level of humidity? I was going to apply indoors, if it was safe. it's been raining and a little cooler, outdoors. I purchased the samples, and will probably be buying the regular size at some point. I thank you so much for your time. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year. View answer

I am making a kitchen table out of white oak. I have applied multiple coats of a water based urethane but am not satisfied it will protect against 3 grandkids. I used a water based urethane as I don't want any yellowing. Can I apply this product over what I have and will it give a good protection? View answer

I have an old township road bridge plank that I am wanting to refinish and make interior shelving. The plank has a tar odor emitting. I am looking for a clear odor blocking sealer, and would LIKE to be able to keep the rustic look, but have nicely finished. Product advice? View answer

I am hoping to safely cover a wood cabinet that still has a small amount of lead paint residue. I want a product that will provide a clear finish. It is the inside of a bathroom vanity, so some water resistance is required. Would this product be recommended for my project? Thank you! View answer

I'm looking to get the toxic smell out of my kitchen cabinets, which are brand new. I'm not really looking to paint them since they are white and I love the color. Which products would be best to use with this process? I'm reading about the Polyureseal (satin and gloss). I believe the cabinets made from wood. View answer

I've a project with several slabs of raw live-edge Saman Acacia wood installed as kitchen counters, vanity top, and as a breakfast nook. The project is in the midwest (high humidity area) and need to ensure the finish is waterproof (around the undermount sink and in a bathroom) and does not require frequent maintenance. While a poly coating would likely be the best waterproofing option, we don't want to cover our raw wood with a plastic-looking coat and prefer to be able to spot refinish. We've had Bioshield #9 recommended to us but I wanted to see if AFM penetrating oil or AFM oil wax would be a better option in terms of waterproofing and longevity for my Saman Acacia? View answer

Hi, I'm hoping someone can answer this that has a lot of experience with the products as I don't want to mess up my cabinets and flooring by sealing them incorrectly. I bought a 4.5 year old home and I am not feeling well in the home. It's probably outgassing? The flooring is a wood laminate. Are there any products that could be used to seal the laminate floor? Any other suggestions if not? And also, what about cabinets. Is there a seal for the cabinets given they are not painted but stained a dark espresso color? I would not want to mess up the finishes on them but at the same time I cannot be sick in my home so any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. I will do what it takes to be stay healthy. Thank you View answer

The wall-to-wall carpet and padding in our lower-level living area developed a musty smell shortly after receiving six inches of rain within two hours. The carpet and pad were removed and discarded. The base floor is untreated concrete slab and we found no visual sign of mold, mildew or water entry on concrete slab or carpet/pad. Cleaning the floor with soap and water and running multiple dehumidifiers for 2 weeks eliminated the odor. We then applied Concrobium mold control (to be safe). We'd like to seal the concrete to prevent moisture vapor from migrating through the concrete in the future. The folks at AFM recommended using MexeSeal for this purpose. As you carry both MexeSeal and Green Building Supply Sealer. Which product do we use? View answer

Looking at the PermaBond/DeckRevive combo to fix weathered front step and back porch (100+ year-old house). Paint on the wooden railings is flaking / deck boards are chipping heavily.1. The instructions say you mix both products with a gallon of paint. If I use both PermaBond & DeckRevive, do you mix PermaBond with paint, or just Deck Revive as that's the final coat?2. Can I use stain instead of a paint? I'll paint the railing white, but I'd rather stain/seal the floor boards.3. Will I need to use another sealer after these two are applied?4. Do you have a product that can repair rotten wood? I've used epoxies (toxic?) before. Instead of replacing the rotten wood, I wondered if there were small job alternatives (like railings/window sills) View answer

I've built a flat file art cabinet that's has big drawers (20"x 40") out of sanded plywood. Wood came from Ecuador (smells awful) it's off gassing in the garage for 2 months and it still smells. Would you recommend SafeSeal or Hard Seal for the drawer bottoms or something else? All chemicals/smells need to be sealed as it will be in my bedroom.1. When coating is it best to do the tops of the drawers, let it cure for a day, then flip the drawers and do the bottoms, or can I do both in 1 day?2. SafeSeal and Hard Seal say don't use over oil based products. I primed/painted the cabinets with oil based paint, then painted over with fusions mineral waterbased paint, can I use Safe or HardSeal to seal in that color on the outside of the cabinet? In trying out your bioshield clay paints ( I love them), I had a wet paper towel rubbed across the dry paint (dry for days) and it came right off. What can I put over my 800 ft. of wall (where I will put the clay paint) to make it behave like regular paint, where I can wash smudges off without the clay paint coming off? I've also been looking at this Wall Glaze product and I know you mentioned somewhere about applying AFM SafeCoat Acrylacq in another Q&A. Can that be put on the full clay-painted wall? Will it change the sheen? I'd like a flat or matte sheen. Should I just change to ECOS Paint? If I do, can I put the Wall Glaze or Acrylacq on the clay areas I have now, so the clay will not wash off? View answer

I've dresser drawers with an unpleasant smell when they are opened. These are solid wood for the sides and plywood for the bottom. I can't distinguish whether the smell is from the wood, or from the plywood. I want to seal it to eliminate off-gassing. I am considering various AFM Safecoat products.1. Can Polyureseal BP be used on unpainted solid wood directly? Can it be used on unpainted plywood?2. Can Hard Seal be used on unpainted solid wood directly? Can it be used on unpainted plywood?3. Can Safe Seal be applied on solid wood?I am inclined to use Polyureseal BP because the data shows that it offers better protection against off-gassing of formaldehyde, but I am not sure whether it can be applied on unfinished wood and plywood surfaces.
