I have white glossy cabinets that remain smelly with a ??new paint' smell on the inside years later (only the cabinets that have interior shelves that were painted). I am unsure if the paint is oil based, but am hoping you can recommend what product I try to seal the inside of the cabinets? Thanks! View answer

Hi. We are rebuilding our deck and are using redwood posts (4X4 from Home Depot) that we would like to keep looking as natural as possible while at the same time protecting them from rain, sun and wind. What different products should we use? We love the look of natural redwood and would like to keep it like that as much as possible. How often should we reapply these products? We live in a desert kind of climate (hot summers, cold winters, pretty dry). We are also not crazy about toxic products. View answer

I have put up paintable wallpaper in my kitchen. I painted it with a pearl metallic water based paint and didn't notice the cancer warning. Now I am wondering if I get your AFM Safecoat Polyureseal BP could I brush or roll a coat of this on to seal off the other paint and be able to wipe down any splatters with only 1 coat? I am worried that sanding would be difficult or impossible with the textured wall paper design to do more coats. View answer

I'm thinking of getting an Ikea wardrobe cabinet (Pax), but the sides of the shelves are exposed particle board. The inside of the sidewalls have peg holes for the adjustable shelves. These holes (approx. 1/4" round and deep) are also exposed particle board. Which AFM product would be best to use to seal these? In addition, if I decide to seal the whole cabinet (the Ikea description says it is made of fibreboard and paper foil) which AFM product would I use? Are AFM sealer products completely inert when dry? (i.e. absolutely no smell) View answer

I have some worn wood flooring in my condo that I want to refinish in a safe way. I was wondering which products you recommend would be the simplest and safest to use. I was looking at the BioShield Hard Oil and AFM Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil because it says they are food grade, so I thought they would be good for flooring if you expect to be walking barefoot. However, I am not sure if they require long drying times and mechanical burnishing or sanding. Is here anything that can be applied that does not require burnishing? I would like to try to do the job myself. View answer

Would this, or any other product, work to seal in VOCs in a vehicle that has a "new car smell"? Someone took my car to get detailed and the seats stained as a gift, and it smells extremely strongly of harmful chemicals. Would using a sealer product on the seats/dash/console help, or is that not advised? View answer

I have outdoor redwood stairs with a small platform that is 2 years old and untreated. What do you suggest to protect and preserve? It is about 60 square feet of surface. What would you suggest? I don't want any color but protection and longevity as it is stunning wood. View answer
