Hello! I am looking to seal a raw wood step stool that my kids will be using in the bathroom and am looking for a safe product since they will be stepping on/standing on/touching it many times per day. Would this product, AFM SafeCoat, Acrylacq, be the best option for this? Thank you in advance for your feedback! View answer

Hi There! I'm looking for a no/low VOC (preferably) water based product that has UV protection for wood that I color with aniline dye. I'm not sure if this product has UV resistant components in it's formula. If not, can you recommend a product that dries clear or transparent to let the color pop through? Thank you! View answer

I have raw wood paneling in my kitchen and know there will be food, water, and grease splashes. I want to protect the wood and keep a clean home. The paneling is floor to ceiling including behind the sink and stove. There are areas, of course, that will not receive as much splash but I feel like it would be good to protect the whole space with the same product, yeah? I think I still want the wood to be able to breathe since it is 200 sq ft of the home. What do you recommend? View answer

I have cedar railings on my deck. About 8 years ago (when my contractor was dying) he sent a workman to put a sealant on the railings. It looked great for about a month and then grew black mold. If I sand the railings lightly, will your penetrating water proofer / sealer do the job without growing another crop of black mold? Or do I need a fungicidal wash to start? View answer

I just bought a piece of furniture that smells like it has recently been spray painted. I want to coat it with something good-safe so that it not only seals in the VOCs but also maintains durability as I plan to use it in my dining room. What product would you recommend for painted wood? View answer

I stained my raw stairs 4 days ago with oil based Min Wax which still smells, but did not stain dark enough gray. It is either pine or white oak, not sure. Can I use Rubio Oil Plus 2 C over it? I am chem sensitive, so it was a bad decision, but I had no idea organic products existed. Any solutions? View answer

My community garden in Bellows Falls, VT, is looking for a soil- and food-safe product to seal fencing near the ground and below the ground. Is this product (Hard Oil #9) appropriate? Can it be mixed with Pine tar for treating non pressure treated wood below ground? Also, how long might the protection last on pine boards? Thank you for your help. View answer
