I'm interested in cork waterproof flooring. Is there an advantage to using both cork underlay and quiet walk on wood subfloor? Old house. Drafty from crawl space though no moisture problems to speak of.Or am I just being silly? If one, which is preferred method for winter warmth assistance? Thank you!! I've read all of these. You're awesome. View answer

Hi, I just put new tile on my home, and I'm about to add the grout and I'm looking for a sealer. I have 5 dogs and want something that is waterproof for when they have accidents and also they come in with dirty soil paws and would like for my grouts not to stain. I clean everyday so I will make sure it always clean but staining has happened to me before ina previous tile, and I didn't know sealers existed. What could be the best products for this. And also do I apply it at the same time as grout of after the grout has fully dried? View answer

We are thinking of purchasing strand bamboo flooring (USFloors Ming) and using this underneath. Do we still need a vapor barrier between the concrete and the cork underlayment or can you forgo the plastic underlayment (just cork and flooring)? We live in Florida, a very humid climate if that is relevant. View answer

I have an interior cement basement wall in a rec room that is starting to crumble in places because moisture is coming through. I used drylock 15 years ago and it worked great for years, but boy did it stink! It looks like I need to repeat the process now on a small area of the wall. What less awful product can I use to seal it this time? (It was painted over with Ben Moore latex paint so it does have paint on it) Or could I use drylock and then seal that in, but with what? Thanks in advance! View answer

Hi. We are rebuilding our deck and are using redwood posts (4X4 from Home Depot) that we would like to keep looking as natural as possible while at the same time protecting them from rain, sun and wind. What different products should we use? We love the look of natural redwood and would like to keep it like that as much as possible. How often should we reapply these products? We live in a desert kind of climate (hot summers, cold winters, pretty dry). We are also not crazy about toxic products. View answer
