I have a some questions concerning your GBS Penetrating concrete sealer. I want to use it on a basement floor that has some areas that were ground down to make it level. It also has some areas the were patched with a concrete patch. Do I need to etch the concrete where it was ground and patched? Also how long can it be stored? I want to order it now when it will not get cold during shipping, but I plan to apply it on my basement floor later this winter. I can store it so it will not get cold and the basement room will be heated as well. Thanks , Julie View answer

My carpenters applied an oil based stain to my oak stair treads. Big mistake. It smells horrible. I did not apply oil based polyurethane yet because I realize that will smell even more! And water based polyurethanes don't work over oil based stains! Is there any healthier product I can cover my oil stained stair treads with? So far every product I see says do not apply over oil based stains. Is there any "low odor" oil based polyurethane product I can use? Or do I need to sand off the old oil stain and start again?? We are thinking of purchasing strand bamboo flooring (USFloors Ming) and using this underneath. Do we still need a vapor barrier between the concrete and the cork underlayment or can you forgo the plastic underlayment (just cork and flooring)? We live in Florida, a very humid climate if that is relevant. View answer

Hi, I just put new tile on my home, and I'm about to add the grout and I'm looking for a sealer. I have 5 dogs and want something that is waterproof for when they have accidents and also they come in with dirty soil paws and would like for my grouts not to stain. I clean everyday so I will make sure it always clean but staining has happened to me before ina previous tile, and I didn't know sealers existed. What could be the best products for this. And also do I apply it at the same time as grout of after the grout has fully dried? View answer

I'm trying to replace carpeted rooms with something more kid and pet friendly. A living room, bedrooms playroom, and an office. I like Marmoleum and my husband like bamboo. It appears that marmoleum can last 100 years and still look good, while bamboo reviews put it's lifespan at 20 years and don't say anything about it's recyclability. But from a DIY installation of click tiles, which of these two will hold up better to wear, nails, spills, scrapes, etc? The rest of the house is hardwood and I don't want to replace something that's not broken but I also don't want to cut more trees to make it all match. So these two types seem the most environmental.
