Can I stain a butcher block counter already treated with a food-safe oil?
Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus 2C, Interior Stain and Sealer Kit
I would like to stain an installed counter with the Morning Mist grey. It has already been treated with a food-safe oil, and I wonder if the stain will absorb without a problem or if there's something I can do to be sure it does stain evenly.

For an even application, the stain needs to be able to penetrate into a porous raw wood surface, which means you will need to remove the oil. Sand your surface down (removing all the oil), then stain. After the stain is completely dried & cured, then you can apply your oil.
