I have new masonite shelves that I need to stop the voc fumes from. Will be indoors. Preferably one coat, if it is primer. It will be in closet, so looks are not important. Would like it to be white. Also do I need to sand? Thank you for your help. Which Safecoat product would you recommend? View answer

I have a shelving/storage unit in our mudroom (hanging coats, shoe storage, etc.) that I want to paint. I am pregnant and trying to be extra cautious with paint and primers. What do you recommend I use to initially prime the shelving unit and then which paint type to purchase? Does a specific paint type go with a specific primer? Do I need to "seal" anything with a different product once I'm done painting? Thank you. View answer

Good afternoon, does your product give a color to the wood? I have wood steps that were sanded and because I have had to fill in some holes, they need to be stained a bit before I put a sealer on them. I don't like all the voc sealers that are out there, Maureen Merritt View answer

20 years ago we used a " natural"oil wax (my memory thinks it was called OS wax) on the 6" maple plank floor that's in our kitchen and throughout the 1st floor. I remember a feature: supposedly you could just clean & lightly sand worn areas and reapply, and it would blend... Can I do this with Safe Coat, or do I have to sand the whole floor? The whole kitchen area is pretty worn down and grey, so I need to "refinish" that area and blend with the golden color of the floor that has been under rugs. View answer

I am looking for a non-toxic sealer for a butcher block countertop that we will be using as a desk. I want to protect the desk from ink stains and accidental coffee/water spills. I read that this will dry in 24 hours, but will need to cure for 2-3 weeks. Can we use it after the 24 hours have passed, or would you recommend waiting for the 2 weeks to fully cure before using a laptop/paper and pen on it? View answer

I just read a review of rubio monocoat and a person also said their rag spontaneously combusted over night through the rain, is this not a concern that the floor will catch fire? I plan to use on northern red oak floor in my rv so there will be lots of stuff and cooking and traffic in a small confined area, how at risk would i be with these oil finishes? View answer

I bought an antique oak store counter that I am using for my kitchen island. I want to make the top more water/stain resistant, but I am not going to prep food directly on the counter top. Are there any products I can use to do this without sanding off the current stain? View answer

We just built a butcher block table out of an old piece of a bar top which has a strong paraffin odor. We have used mineral oil and a lavender essential oil to reduce the odor. It helped a little but not enough to enjoy the table in the house. Will this product keep that odor under wraps? View answer
