I installed new carpet two years ago, but I could not stand the new carpet smell. Like a fool, I looked up on the internet what would reduce the smell and found out about baking soda. I sprinkled baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for 24 hours. The smell is pretty much gone. But since then I have not been able to get rid of the baking soda in the carpet. It gives me a sore throat and nose bleeds because every time I vacuum the small baking soda particles go back into the air and dries it out. No matter how many times I vacuum or carpet clean I can't get all the baking soda out of the carpet. Will this product seal the the baking soda in the carpet, so there is not an issue with fine dust in the air anymore? View answer

We moved into a house with an old carpet and we know for a fact the prior owners used lots of chemicals on their lawn. They left a garage full of them. Is this something we can use to clean and "encapsulate" any chemicals left in the carpet or is the only way to replace the whole carpet? Thank you! View answer

Hi there. The synthetic carpet in the house we recently purchased was apparently fitted in 2015. The info provided about AFM's Carpet Seal suggests that you might only need to use this is the carpet is under 4 years old. Is this true? And is this because carpet backing has typically stopped off gassing after 4 years? If I don't need to use the Carpet Seal, would you still recommend using AFM's Carpet Lock Out to prevent off gassing of the fibers? If so, does this product also need to be re-applied on a yearly basis and how long do the fibers typically continue to offgas? View answer

Hi, I have just moved into a rental property that has had new carpet and underlay installed about 2 weeks ago. I have MCS and don't think either carpet or underlay is low VOC. Can I treat just the carpet with this system or will I need to also treat the underlay? Ideally, I wouldn't have to remove the carpet and can fix the problem by sealing just the carpet itself. How long after doing the three-step system will I know how much of the odor is blocked? After step 3 has dried will I immediately know if it worked well enough? We bought a new house with a strong new carpet smell. If sealing doesn't remove enough of the smell we will replace the flooring. View answer

I know you said this isn't for area rugs, but I have an area rug and it smells awful of chemicals. Would it really hurt to use this on that? And if these products are NOT designed for area rugs, the instructions regarding wrapping the rug in rags while drying makes no sense. I'm desperate and need the carpet sealed before 2/27/24.What can I do if not this? View answer

I have new cabinets. We had them custom built and they were to us a specialties coat for sensitive people. They are still off gassing after 3 months. We do not want to re topcoat them. Would any of your cleaning or no glass wipe on products be of any help and ok to use on wood varnished doors? View answer

Is this product appropriate to seal a new, outdoor (under patio roof, will not be rained on) freshly assembled, painted by manufacturer, metal planter box? I want to seal the edges and prevent leaks at side seams for watering plants. If this product is not the proper one, do you have something that is? View answer
