The installation guide recommends a glue-down installation in high-moisture situations and areas that get direct sunlight. I'm hoping to install this in a kitchen with a skylight, however there's already a glue down cork floor in the room (solid, fairly level, but surface is beyond repair). Can I install this cork floor as a glue-down on top of the existing cork floor? Or is it ok to float? If yes to gluing, what adhesive is best? Thanks! View answer

Can this cork flooring be installed on a bathroom floor? View answer
Asked 5 ´years ago
I want in my bathroom but am hesitant due to the chance of water seeping into seems and getting moldy or warping the material, esp since it is a layered veneer. (I am also concerned about pipes bursting now that I just survived this TX ice storm and am afraid the cork would be ruined whereas my current tile os holding up well). Will you please speak to this? I have noticed that the wood look uses rPET or recycled polyethylene terephthalate from water bottles as the top coat. Does the rPET leach out and/or outgas the heavy mental antimony that is used in the manufacturing of PET. Antimony is a heavy metal that is a suspected carcinogen. Since PET in general is considered a one time use plastic that when heated or scratched can possibility release this heavy metal. Since this is a top coat in the cork wood grain product, which has high scratch resistance and I assume no issues with heat, is there any possibility of Antimony being released into the air and/or leaching? Thanks! View answer

We have a covered porch with a floor of 5/4" x 6" pine decking boards (with a small space between them) over 2x8 joists 20" o.c. that are exposed to weather below. We would like to turn the porch into a 3-season room with waterproof cork for flooring. What kind of subfloor & underlayment would be needed between the decking boards & the cork? Thanks for your help & wonderful products! View answer

I will be installing in a fairly large kitchen that opens (leads) into a dining room. Is it possible to frame around the walls with the plain waterproof cork and then create an area in the center (rectangular) that is the waterproof cork in the wood look? thank you for any advice. View answer

Is this product truly waterproof? Or is this just clever marketing speak? I have three children, all of whom loves baths and a husband who is obsessed with taking at least two showers a day, I have a wet bathroom and need some flooring but am wary of anything that says "waterproof" View answer
