SAMPLE - AFM SafeCoat, Polyureseal BP, Matte Q&A
Activity timeframe
According to your website, the SafeCoat Polyureseal BP cannot be applied over oil-based polyurethanes or oil-based products. Does this include oil-based stain, such as Minwax? Wood Finish? 250 VOC Compliant, a penetrating oil-based wood stain? If so, are there stains that you would recommend instead? View answer

Can the SafeCoat Polyureseal BP be applied over a water-based urethane modified alkyd paint with the look and feel of an alkyd/oil finish? This is a hybrid type paint trying to intermix the benefits of oil and water-based products. Specifically, I am using Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel paint on bedroom furniture. It is water-based, but they explained to me that it is water encapsulating an oil to allow for easier application and clean-up, but what remains is the oil. So I'm wondering if I can use the Polyureseal BP over it? Thanks. View answer

I'm looking to get the toxic smell out of my kitchen cabinets, which are brand new. I'm not really looking to paint them since they are white and I love the color. Which products would be best to use with this process? I'm reading about the Polyureseal (satin and gloss). I believe the cabinets made from wood. View answer

I was advised to use oil-based Rustoleum to seal indoor wicker furniture. The fumes were horrific. Two months later there is still a toxic smell. Is there a SafeCoat or other non-toxic clear sealer I can spray over the Rustoleum coat to eliminate lock in the fumes and lock in the wicker material so it doesn't deteriorate? Thanks for your help, Vivian 07-07-21 View answer

Can your low gloss sealer be used on a colored concrete basement floor with in-floor heat? The concrete was beautiful before we finished the basement. Now it has some scratches and spray from putting in the sheetrock, etc. I can get most of the sheetrock spray off, but want to get the concrete to shine again. We built the house two years ago. I have an old township road bridge plank that I am wanting to refinish and make interior shelving. The plank has a tar odor emitting. I am looking for a clear odor blocking sealer, and would LIKE to be able to keep the rustic look, but have nicely finished. Product advice? View answer
