We plan to install floating cork flooring over cement slab at grade. A moisture barrier like Moisture Block is needed as our real-life experience of moisture migrates from the ground up, through cement. We also want QuietWalk: it's insulative, cushioning & moisture wicking. The cork floor manufacturer's installation pdf says don't install the floor over an underlayment more than 1/8" (0.125) thick. QuietWalk is .13" thick (.05" too thick). Plus .006" thick Moisture Block would exceed max allowable thickness by .056. I saw in another Q&A using both may be overkill, but I feel we need both. I'm confused about exceeding the manufacturer's allowed underlayment thickness. Can you clear up any confusion and can I use both underlayments together? View answer

When installing on radiant floor heat with concrete slab Should we have the quiet walk plus go 2in up the wall as the direction per Marmoleum click flooring? Or trim it 0.5in from wall per the directions of quiet walk plus ? Marmoleum click flooring says have vapor barrier go up 2in on the wall, yet quiet walk says trim about .5in from wall. What should we do View answer

Hello, I am installing a click-lock engineered hardwood flooring on top of an existing wood floor. The manufacturer recommended underlayment is a 2-in-1 foam underlayment, max 1/8" thick. A vapor barrier is important here as the level directly below is the cellar (not heated) and there is no subfloor below the existing floor. Do you recommend MP Global, QuietWalk Plus for this situation? Thank you! View answer

Would this product work to block bass sound coming from below? My neighbor below plays music at all times, and regardless of years of complaints the sound never stops. I am adding 1/2" pressed felt floor pads and 3"inch floor rugs to all my rooms. Would adding this on top of wood floors, below the felt padding add additional sound absorption? I was considering this product or cork. Thanks! View answer

I have a home in Central OR (low relative humidity but cold winters) and want to install a floating click floor. What would be the best underlayment? This looks good, but so does Global MP quietwalk and also the other underlayment you offer with vapor barrier attached. How do I decide? View answer

On the sample for Moisture Block it says "It is recommended to also install a moisture resistant film over concrete or any substrate where moisture is a concern." So does that mean an additional plastic film along with the Moisture Block? Trying to understand what to do on a concrete basement floor under waterproof cork (interlock, no glue). View answer

We are planning to install Marmoleum click tiles and panels in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room of our cabin. The rooms are small and oddly shaped and we wondered whether Moisture Block needs to seal at the edges of the room? We will likely need to use self-leveler in some areas as well to ensure that the floors are flat enough for installation, should we order cork instead? View answer

Hello, I have extreme multiple chemical SENSITIVITY. I need a vapor barrier membrane for my dirt floor crawl space. It needs to be free of formaldehyde, bleach, petroleum free, so the smell doesn't come up into home. Also need chemical free spray foam too or something to seal under floor joists. Crawl space is 3 feet high.Do you have a shellac that would not crack to cover a wood floor? View answer

I'm making 16.5" high raised cedar planting beds for vegetables. Is MP-Global-Moisture-Block safe to use to line the inside of the planting bed (to block moisture from the cedar wood planks)? Is it safe for the soil and vegetables to stay in contact with this lining? Also, is this product still bio degradable? How often should I replace this lining?Or, this product is not designed for outdoor use in this way? View answer
