We moved into a house with an old carpet and we know for a fact the prior owners used lots of chemicals on their lawn. They left a garage full of them. Is this something we can use to clean and "encapsulate" any chemicals left in the carpet or is the only way to replace the whole carpet? Thank you! View answer

How long after doing the three-step system will I know how much of the odor is blocked? After step 3 has dried will I immediately know if it worked well enough? We bought a new house with a strong new carpet smell. If sealing doesn't remove enough of the smell we will replace the flooring. View answer

I'd like to stain my refinished hardwood floor and then apply a top coat like polyurethane. I'd like a stain for colour and something to protect it that is designed for floors. I would also use this on plywood floors that have been sanded BUT IT HAS TO BE water-based, zero-VOC or low-VOC and very little odour as well, as I am very sensitive to chemicals and smells. I am potentially interested in purchasing a sealer (AFM SafeCoat) for some grass cloth wallpaper in my baby's nursery. After reviewing the products available, I can't decide if AFM Safecoat Hard Seal or Acrylacq would be better (or something else I've missed). The wallpaper will be hung with a low-VOC adhesive and hopefully completely installed by the middle of June. My baby is due in the middle of September and I thought I'd give the wallpaper a couple months to cure, then apply the sealer to be safe. I would like to paint the sealer on myself, but I read that there is a bit of a smell. What causes this smell, anything dangerous to the baby? View answer
