I recently installed untreated pine on the ceiling in my bathroom. I am looking for a nontoxic seal that will protect the wood from water damage/molding etc. I don't intend to stain the wood. I only need to seal it. Is this an appropriate product for that? Thanks in advance. View answer

Hi, I am seeking a plant based/environmental friendly sealer for my wood paintings. I use mineral and earth pigment paints, basically crushed pigment powder mixed with water. Would this be the recommended product to try on my pieces? I've used Acri-Soy in the past and it can smear the paints sometimes due to its consistency. My art is made with 100% plants so everything is an experiment, but I thought I would ask in case there may be a better suggestion. Thank you. View answer

The Residential Floor Cleaning Instructions say to Mix 1/2 1 ounce of Forbo Neutral pH Cleaner per 1 gallon of unheated tap water. Do you know how I can measure that with cup measures? (I just received a sample of Forbo Marmoleum Modular - Tile Item #85972 in Refreshing Green and it is lovely. I want to make sure that if we go with this flooring, that I know how to take care of it properly.) View answer

I have a problem with a dark tar and gravel roof that doesn't leak, it just gets full sun and makes an incredibly hot attic (over 100 degrees) and huge summer AC bills. The attic has unpainted rafter boards. Can I apply this with some semi-gloss paint to the exterior on top of the tar and gravel? Secondly, I saw you advise another person to apply the paint inside the attic. Can I also spray the unpainted wood rafters on the underside of the roof to get more protection? View answer

I have particle board kitchen cabinets in a place built over 30 years ago. Only surfaces visible when the cabinets are closed have a laminate veneer. The insides and presumably the bottoms and and backs are uncoated particle board. I want to seal the surfaces I can reach - the insides. I have a full leftover container of AFM Hard Seal from another project. I noticed Polyureseal BP did best at blocking formaldehyde in the tests on your website. Would you recommend Hard Seal, Acrylacq, or Polyureseal BP? View answer

Can I paint my old concrete basement floor with this? Does it require a primer? I have sealed small cracks that naturally form in the basement concrete through time. Our concrete was poured in the 70s and is still in good shape. Looking to make it look nicer. Not heavily used and will put throw rugs or carpet in areas over it. I am chemically sensitive. Will this work for our basement? View answer

Hi, I am looking to refresh the look of my counter-top dish draining rack. It is strong going but got rusty through the years. What paint/finish would you recommend to use? I am looking for a non-toxic option as people are going to use the draining dishes for food. Thx View answer

Hi, I just put new tile on my home, and I'm about to add the grout and I'm looking for a sealer. I have 5 dogs and want something that is waterproof for when they have accidents and also they come in with dirty soil paws and would like for my grouts not to stain. I clean everyday so I will make sure it always clean but staining has happened to me before ina previous tile, and I didn't know sealers existed. What could be the best products for this. And also do I apply it at the same time as grout of after the grout has fully dried? View answer

I'm interested in this product but curious if you can install over existing sheet vinyl. We have original sheet vinyl over 3/4 inch plywood subfloor which has some deflection. Is it advisable to put down a thicker underlayment on top first? We actually had LVT installed over the sheet vinyl with grout but the grout started to crumble immediately. So we have to start over. Id prefer this product since its also non toxic. But want to make sure itll hold up on our existing floors. Thank you! View answer

I am ordering Rubio Monocoat for my hardwood floors. I have a few questions. I am interested in purchasing the raw wood cleaner and the natural soap that is recommended in the application instructions. I don't think they are available on your site. Do you have alternate products that you recommend? Also, are the application and buffer pads that you show the regular nylon pads that would come with the floor buffer that I would rent? Lastly, I'm mixing two colors 1/2 and 1/2. If I store the extra - will it sit ok with the colors mixed together, or should I only mix them in each batch as I go, the way I'd mix in the step 2 oil. I know. This is an art project and I'm on my own. But, I thought I'd just ask in case. Thank you so much. View answer
