I have previously used polyurethane to Seal tongue and groove in my house. Obviously it is toxic and the fumes are disgusting. What do you recommend to use on tongue and groove in a bathroom including the shower ceiling that would give me a semi gloss look and the protection i need? View answer

Loving this product so far. However, I'm confused on what's the best protocol for sanding. I've heard that before applying oils/sealers, it's best to sand a little, as it 'roughs up' the surface a bit to allow for better oil penetration. Is this true? Also, on the official "Technical Information and Application" PDF for this product, it states "For best absorbency, all surfaces should be sanded NO FINER than #100". But this leaves the surface fairly rough - can I not sand it more finely, creating a smoother wood surface? Thanks a bunch! View answer

A neighbor made me a mailbox out of nice untreated pine in the shape of a barn. I need a treatment that will seal the mailbox so water doesn't get through to the inside, between each piece of wood used to form the barn shape. He did a terrific job, but I do worry about small leaks. Any suggestions? View answer

I see conflicting information about the subfloor requirements for Cinch-Loc. Some comments say max 3/16 over 8' span, others (including Forbo) say 3/32 over 6' span. Also, will the Quiet Walk Plus compensate for 1/16th variation or 3/32 (or, what is considered "little subfloor imperfections")? Thanks. View answer

Hello, I am trying to decide between AFM primer that seals in vocs or Ecos air purifying primer. I might end up having to use a different zero voc brand latex or acrylic paint that our contractors can purchase quickly. Could you tell me what would be the best primer to use in a mixer of new drywall and older painted drywall that will be zero voc and help seal up the smells and chemicals from the new drywall ? I'm wondering how "semi-transparent" this product is... I need to restain/seal my backyard fence that is older and has different colors to it based on where previous shrubs blocked water from hitting the fence. I am not sure how a clear would look in this situation, but I also don't want my fence to look like I painted it brown; I like seeing the natural grain of the wood. I'm debating between the Caspian Clear and the Acorn Brown. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you! View answer

Hello I have metal plant stands and I was wondering if I paint them with this product (after sanding and priming) if this paint can be absorbed by the terra-cotta pots I place on top and then have potential to leach into my soil? Perhaps I'm being too cautious, but I'm trying to ensure that my balcony garden veggies are as safe as possible. Thank you! View answer

Hello, can this be used on plastic? I want to recycle some plastic planters I found and use them for my organic herbs and vegetables, but Id like to coat the inside of the pots with this product so that none of the plastic chemicals leach into my soil. Can this product be used for that purpose? Thank you! View answer
