I'm in the process of putting down Varathane Floor Finish (oil-based polyurethane). I have two coats on OSB (I'm using DriCore as basement flooring). Unfortunately, I was unaware of just how toxic polyurethane is and am concerned about the potential long duration of off-gassing. I'm looking for an encapsulating sealer to contain the VOCs and the off-gassing. Will the SafeCoat Soft or Hard Sealer work for this? View answer

I have an Ikea Billy bookcase I recently purchased that smells. Is AFM Hard Seal the correct product to stop off gassing of VOCs and other chemicals? Also, it is already attached to the wall. If I put this product on it do I need to avoid the room for a number of days after to air it out? When is it safe to return to the room due to fumes? Also, does it immediately stop off gassing once dry? View answer

Hi, I have an rv with a fiberglass shell, one piece, that I'm remodeling due to interior water damage. I have stripped it entirely, repaired the leaks around the window and door and now want to waterproof seal the interior fiberglass shell before insulating and putting the walls back on. What product would you suggest for priming and sealing? Do you also have a foam insulation you would recommend? View answer

I'm installing new carpet in a bedroom that is located above an attached garage, there is old carpet glue on top of the subfloor. I'd like to use something to seal in any past pollutants that's made its way to the subfloor and any future ones from the garage. Would this product work over old carpet glue on wood subfloor and under new carpet? View answer

I live in a house that has a cement basement and on the outside it looks like limestone. I want to paint the bottom 2 feet of my exterior house (looks like limestone) with a cherry brown to bring out the colors to the rest of the house. This will make it look really nice as the house has a faded touch to it. I kind of dread painting it with a paint brush so I'm looking for advice on what to use? View answer

I've built a flat file art cabinet that's has big drawers (20"x 40") out of sanded plywood. Wood came from Ecuador (smells awful) it's off gassing in the garage for 2 months and it still smells. Would you recommend SafeSeal or Hard Seal for the drawer bottoms or something else? All chemicals/smells need to be sealed as it will be in my bedroom.1. When coating is it best to do the tops of the drawers, let it cure for a day, then flip the drawers and do the bottoms, or can I do both in 1 day?2. SafeSeal and Hard Seal say don't use over oil based products. I primed/painted the cabinets with oil based paint, then painted over with fusions mineral waterbased paint, can I use Safe or HardSeal to seal in that color on the outside of the cabinet? Hi, I'm hoping someone can answer this that has a lot of experience with the products as I don't want to mess up my cabinets and flooring by sealing them incorrectly. I bought a 4.5 year old home and I am not feeling well in the home. It's probably outgassing? The flooring is a wood laminate. Are there any products that could be used to seal the laminate floor? Any other suggestions if not? And also, what about cabinets. Is there a seal for the cabinets given they are not painted but stained a dark espresso color? I would not want to mess up the finishes on them but at the same time I cannot be sick in my home so any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. I will do what it takes to be stay healthy. Thank you View answer
