Hi. I just moved into an apartment where the laminate wood vinyl flooring wasn't installed well in terms of they used an inadequate adhesive. Therefore when it gets hot they come apart and rise up. I just need to glue them back down with something that is permanent, bonds quickly and stays bonded, easy to apply and eco friendly. Would this be a good solution or the other one in the tube? Thank you. View answer

Should we use a vapor barrier along with the cork underlayment when installing Wood Wise over concrete? For our current basement remodel, we are seriously considering the Wood Wise flooring option by Amorim. This will be going over a concrete floor (still need to conduct a moisture test). The manufacturer states only a 6 or 8 mil vapor barrier is required as an underlayment, but we won't void the warranty with a 2 mm cork underlayment. Since this project is over concrete, should we install a vapor barrier in addition to the cork underlayment. View answer

We are thinking of purchasing strand bamboo flooring (USFloors Ming) and using this underneath. Do we still need a vapor barrier between the concrete and the cork underlayment or can you forgo the plastic underlayment (just cork and flooring)? We live in Florida, a very humid climate if that is relevant. View answer

You mention it "reduces abrasion", is that specified somewhere? Does it allow same level of movement as rosin paper? Manufacturer of OSB in a two layer subfloor layout calls for 15lb felt (prevent squeaking). Doing 1 x 6" wood slats as 1st subfloor layer, then underlayment on top of the 1st subfloor layer (15 lb felt, or equivalent, presumably silicon vapor shield, aka SVS), then a 1 1/8" OSB subfloor layer, which we xxxx down through the underlayment with 1 3/4 inch decking screws. a) Do we staple/nail down silicon vapor shield or loose lay? Maybe underlayment seal tape to cover seams? Or double sided tape to secure to the floor/prevent it from moving as the OSB 4' x 8' sheet is placed on top of it and screwed down to 1st layer subfloor? We plan to install floating cork flooring over cement slab at grade. A moisture barrier like Moisture Block is needed as our real-life experience of moisture migrates from the ground up, through cement. We also want QuietWalk: it's insulative, cushioning & moisture wicking. The cork floor manufacturer's installation pdf says don't install the floor over an underlayment more than 1/8" (0.125) thick. QuietWalk is .13" thick (.05" too thick). Plus .006" thick Moisture Block would exceed max allowable thickness by .056. I saw in another Q&A using both may be overkill, but I feel we need both. I'm confused about exceeding the manufacturer's allowed underlayment thickness. Can you clear up any confusion and can I use both underlayments together? View answer

I bought USFloors cork underlayment in a roll from Lowe's - it came in a 100 square ft roll. Is that product the same as this one? Just asking since it's sold as USFloors on Lowe's but the branding on the roll has a black spiral and the label says Premium Cork Underlayment. View answer
