I got samples of the Natural and Teak. Looking for something that would give UV protection but also keep the cedar outdoor furniture looking close to the way cedar looks naturally. Do you think the Natural, being fairly light, gives enough UV protection? Or should we try mixing another shade in? I would assume the darker the shade, the more protection. But, is the Natural enough protection to last say for a year? The Vermont Natural cedar stain has too much orange tone for our taste. It would be great if their company developed more colors. Hi Sasha,I asked earlier about the Rubio oil being adequate to seal formaldehyde. You said no and sent me a list of other products by AFM that would possibly work. The project involved is particle board walls which need to be sealed to be safe for me. Because I am so exquisitely sensitive to formaldehyde, it would need to be the best one. I have old engineered 3 ply tongue and groove floor tiles from the 1960's and recently had bug bombs set off in the house which of course left the residue on the floor soo I had it cleaned with Castile soap and water but the guys doing the cleaning in the living room used a little too much soap and water in the living room so not much finish left there. I will be moving into the house in a couple of weeks or less . Can I wait a day between applying the first and second coat of Deck Revive? I live in a warm climate and have likely missed the window of opportunity for handling all the steps in a single day (permabond, quickcrete, two coats of deck revive). I will have about three hours in the morning that i can work before the deck is above 85 degrees. I plan to do all the sealing, staining, and curing of the wood pieces outside the van. My concern is spontaneous combustion of the cured oil-stained wood on a hot sunny 120 deg. F day when the interior surfaces baked by the sun can reach temperatures of over 180 deg. F. Will this be safe to use in this situation or should I only consider water-based sealers and stains? We stained our wood-clad patio doors with the walnut-colored Rubio Monocoat, after testing the stain color on a piece of 1x4. The doors turned out much lighter than the swatch shown on your website and also much lighter than the test piece.<BR>We would like to go darker on the color. However, with the doors being wood-clad (i.e.. thin veneered on the inside surface), we wouldn't be able to sand them down to re-stain them. What would you suggest we do?
