I live in a rental and want to instal this over the current kitchen tile. The apartment is an open concept layout so basically I would be putting this over just part of a room. Is there a way to deal with edges that are open to the room (not a wall)? Or if I just left them, would the tiles/planks come apart? View answer

I'm looking for a flooring solution for my short term rental (Airbnb) in Wyoming. This is my first winter in the house, and the humidity is constantly reading 24-26%. Although I'd love to offer the luxury of a hardwood floor, a floating Marmoleum floor seems to make the most sense for the dry air, traffic, cleaning, etc. Any experience with Marmoleum in the dry northern Rocky Mountain region? I'm also considering Kahrs engineered, but wood seems very risky. View answer

Getting ready to install the Marmoleum Click we received yesterday. In those areas where the panels must be cut to fit around obstructions or can't be angled in, Forbo's instructions call for shaving down the groove side of the panel and to use "wood glue" to substitute for the click mechanism. They don't specify what type of "wood glue." Am I free to use the "Titebond II" indoor/outdoor wood glue that I have on hand? One video that I found recommends using vinyl adhesive caulk, which gave me some cause for concern. Thank you in advance for your response! View answer

What is the Top Finish made out of that we come in contact with? I understand the Linoleum is natural and does not have any plastics and no VOCs! Which would be why I'd buy this product. But the topical finish is polyester and has some VOCs correct? Do we have any products that do not contain any Top Finishes that have VOCs or contains any form of plastic or harsh chemicals? I am interested in the Marmoleum planks. I will be installing it over a wood subfloor. My question concerns the density of the planks. In the room will be two steel production tables on casters that weigh about 500 lbs each. Do I need to be concerned about these planks dimpling under the weight of these tables? Also, will the planks stay flat and in place after repeated moving of the tables over time? View answer

I'm curious about the perm rating of marmoleum: to what extent is marmoleum vapor permeable? In the passive house construction world, it's important for every material in the wall/floor/ceiling assemblies to be air and water tight, but to be vapor permeable.Since marmoleum sheets are adhered to the floor with a continuous layer of glue/mastic, or in the case of the click tile product the marmoleum is glued to HDF which is in turn glued to cork, I also wonder if, even though marmoleum on it's own may have an excellent perm rating, the glues render that null? It seems like glues would perform, from a vapor standpoint, like a sheet of plastic... I'd love insight on this! View answer

I'm interested in buying this product, but there will be a few places that only 1/2 of a tile will fit, such as next to the cabinets. Will I or my contractor be able to customize it to fit? Also we aren't able to remove the baseboards so can I caulk the space between the edge of the marmoleum and the baseboard? View answer
