The installation instructions say not to use in a dry environment. My house does get very dry (20s-30s) in the winter and even with room humidifier I have not found a way to raise the humidity much. The house is heated with central heating. How does this affect the flooring? if i store the flooring indoors for weeks to a month to offgas before installing and it is that dry, would that make the installation more problematic? would it make the clicks more brittle? I understand the need to keep a 3/8" gap at the perimeter of a floating floor. But what happens if your product is installed in a bathroom where there will be a toilet? Toilets typically install over the flooring with caulk in the joint in between. won't this restrict the movement of the floor and possibly cause problems? View answer

I see that many of your options are on backorder for Forbo Click lock Marmoleum. Are there other retailers or outlets that might carry it or have it in stock? I checked the main website and it looked like I could only order samples from there. I found another site that seems to have it but am trying to cover my bases by making sure it's the legit product from Forbo. View answer

We are remodeling our 1966 house and need flooring in the kitchen, bathroom and bar area. We want to maintain the mid-mod style of the house. I like the pictures I see of Marmoleum, but we do not have the time for do it yourself. Can you recommend an installer? And how does this flooring compare in cost to vinyl or linoleum flooring? I have several questions about Marmoleum click tile on floors:1. Which one is easier to install: 12x36 or 12x12?2. What chemicals are used in the finish applied on the top of the tile for protection?3. Does this flooring initially emit any chemical odor?4. What vapor barrier do you recommend for a cement floor (2nd-floor condo). Do I need padding? What are the most eco-friendly materials sold by you?5. Is it possible to use wool felt or EarthWeave wool under carpet pad under click on Marmoleum?6. How much does installation cost per sq. ft? View answer

Can I install this product in a bathroom and/or kitchen where water will be getting on the floor often? Originally, I was thinking this type of product would come in sheets that would minimize water getting below the tiles. If it can be installed in a bathroom, is there a special way to install it to keep it from allowing water penetration to the subfloor? View answer

I am trying to decide on whether to purchase Volcanic Ash in the 12-inch click or the 12-inch glue-down tile. I know the price difference is key, but which one is more durable? It will be installed in a kitchen. Spills will happen, however I noted that it said to clean up spills before 30 minutes had passed...so I just wanted to check before I made my decision. View answer

Since I can't find a company that makes true linoleum rugs, I was thinking I could use click loc tiles (area is about 65 sq ft). This would sit on top of textured bamboo flooring, anchored by a large couch. Is there reducer I can buy for the edges for a project like this? View answer

I'm trying to choose between using the sheet or the click for a residential art room. I see that the click is water resistant. Would the click be problematic if a bowl of water was spilled but cleaned immediately. Also, the room would have a large heavy solid wood table in the middle. Would the clicks buckle from weight? Do the more "wood look"-esque lined planks have a few variations within the same color or all planks within a color are the exact same print? I ask because for example on Welsh Moor the room visualizer repeats the same dark blotch on every plank which is very noticeable as a repeated print but if there were some variations it would be less noticeable. Does the click need a vapor barrier? In my case a 1st floor powder/laundry room with plywood subfloor on top of an unfinished but dehumidified basement? I'm confused by Forbo's subfloor guide, and various answers here for different situations that call for the need or no need for a vapor barrier and the type. Some say just the Moisture Block and some say only use Quiet Walk because it's the only one that wicks moisture? View answer

I am going to put "Donkey Island" in our butler pantry, laundry room and a small guest bathroom. I am looking at Natural Cherry wood for cupboards in the pantry. I will put in the same wood in the laundry in the lower cupboards and blue cupboards above. The color I choose for the blue was Sherwin Williams "Favorite Jeans". Do you thinking that Favorite Jeans blue color is a good pick to go along with the Donkey island flooring? I am picking out Silestone Statuario for our countertops. I would love you opinion on these items since we will be purchasing the donkey island flooring. Thanks, Heidi Halverson View answer

Does the Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc make a clicking or tapping sound when walking on it? I have looked at floating vinyl plank floors and don't like the sound they make, even when backed with cork or foam. In the past, we used original Marmoleum squares glued on a concrete floor and it was rock solid for 20+ years, but this will be on a newly built OSB floor and we'd prefer not to glue. Thanks for any advice! View answer
