The installation instructions say not to use in a dry environment. My house does get very dry (20s-30s) in the winter and even with room humidifier I have not found a way to raise the humidity much. The house is heated with central heating. How does this affect the flooring? if i store the flooring indoors for weeks to a month to offgas before installing and it is that dry, would that make the installation more problematic? would it make the clicks more brittle? While Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal is a very stable product, excessively dry conditions may cause shrinkage and possibly cracking. It will not increase or decrease the off-gassing (there is nothing hazardous anyway) or the brittleness of the click mechanism. The requirement for relative humidity of 35-65% applies to all types of flooring, furniture, cabinetry, millwork, plants, pets and people. Less than that puts undue stress on everything. We understand that certain parts of the country and certain elevations are very challenging for homeowners. Consider using a second humidifier or looking into a whole house humidifier such as AprilAire. We added one to our home in Iowa and it made a huge difference.
