SAMPLE - AFM SafeCoat, Naturals Oil Wax Finish Q&A
Activity timeframe
Hi- I want to use one coat of your Oil Wax followed by two coats of Vermont Natural PolyWhey Floor Finish on our sanded floors. How long would you recommend letting the Oil Wax dry before applying the PolyWhey? I did a test with about 24 hours drying and it seems good, but wanted to get your input. Thanks! View answer

Hi. I read one of these answers wrong I think. I'm working on a butcher block countertop. I was planning on using this product. I already have now. But now I've decided I need to stain the countertop. Is it possible to use Rubio Monocoat 2C Oil stain on the wood and apply this on top for extra protection? TIA for your help. View answer

We just built a butcher block table out of an old piece of a bar top which has a strong paraffin odor. We have used mineral oil and a lavender essential oil to reduce the odor. It helped a little but not enough to enjoy the table in the house. Will this product keep that odor under wraps? View answer

I have red oak floors that have had danish oil and paste wax on them many years ago. Do I need to get every bit of the old oil and wax off before I use this. I really don't want to sand but don't mind stripping the wax. If I need to sand do I need to get down to raw wood? View answer

We recently purchased a gorgeous harvest table made of Acacia wood. It seats eight and is a very rugged and natural-looking piece of furniture. It will get high use as we entertain and will be using it for our plant-based cooking classes. We want to protect and preserve it as much as we can. What products do your recommend for this? I read a few reviews of one of your products that other customers raved about SafeCoat Naturals Oil Wax. Is this the product we should buy? View answer

I just read a review of rubio monocoat and a person also said their rag spontaneously combusted over night through the rain, is this not a concern that the floor will catch fire? I plan to use on northern red oak floor in my rv so there will be lots of stuff and cooking and traffic in a small confined area, how at risk would i be with these oil finishes? View answer

Around how long might it take to cure/seal/dry a wood countertop? This is important as I need to know if I can keep the family from using it for that long in the kitchen! For example, I've had a can of Monocoat sitting for months because I can't make the kitchen off-limits for the required 6-something days. View answer

We recently had a live edge walnut table made for us and the builder finished it with Watco Danish Oil. We have three small children and don't feel the finish is hardy enough for us and we want something that is safe for our kids to eat off of and will be water repellant. There are a couple knots in the wood and small gaps in the board seams that need to be filled as well to prevent crumbs and liquid from entering - will I be able to use this product for this purpose as well or do you have another one you might recommend? I have 60 year old hardwood floors that have been covered with carpeting from previous owner and now they have been exposed for about 30 years and they have been only waxed with Johnson and Johnson hardwood floor wax which you can no longer get. Right now they are just worn with nothing at all on them and I need to find a wax that will bring them back to life. Will this wax do the job for my floors? View answer

Our home is 175 years old. We sanded and used gym seal on many of the pine floors about 35 years ago. Needless to say, they're looking dry and sad. Must we sand before using AFM Naturals Oil Wax finish? How long must we wait to replace rugs and furniture? Also, I don't understand on the pdf of instructions about "buffing" with sandpaper.
