I want to order the Rubio Oil Plus 2 part and I found this link: http://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/All-Products/Paints-Coatings-Wood-Stains-Sealers/Rubio-Oil-Plus-2C-Part-A. I am not clear if I order this product if it comes with Part B or 2 or do I need to order that separately. Please advise. View answer

Hi, can I use Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus to stain old kitchen cabinets? View answer

I build custom recording studio furniture, mainly desks. I'm currently using solvent based stain and a pre cat lacquer spray for the finish. I'm looking for a new approach that can be applied faster, and doesn't require the loss of brain cells (even with a respirator I can smell the lacquer as I spray). Rubio Monocoat seems to be advertised for wood flooring, but would it be suitable for a daily use desk? View answer

We stained our wood-clad patio doors with the walnut-colored Rubio Monocoat, after testing the stain color on a piece of 1x4. The doors turned out much lighter than the swatch shown on your website and also much lighter than the test piece.<BR>We would like to go darker on the color. However, with the doors being wood-clad (i.e.. thin veneered on the inside surface), we wouldn't be able to sand them down to re-stain them. What would you suggest we do? Can we layer another darker-colored Monocoat? Will the wood take on more color? If not, what are our options? We have pets at home so we have to use VOC free products. View answer

Ref: Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus 2C Interior Stain and Seal Kit. I would be using this on new plywood cabinetry inside my van. I plan to do all the sealing, staining, and curing of the wood pieces outside the van. My concern is spontaneous combustion of the cured oil-stained wood on a hot sunny 120 deg. F day when the interior surfaces baked by the sun can reach temperatures of over 180 deg. F. Will this be safe to use in this situation or should I only consider water-based sealers and stains? I have old engineered 3 ply tongue and groove floor tiles from the 1960's and recently had bug bombs set off in the house which of course left the residue on the floor soo I had it cleaned with Castile soap and water but the guys doing the cleaning in the living room used a little too much soap and water in the living room so not much finish left there. I will be moving into the house in a couple of weeks or less . Of main concern to me is that I have 3 cats and I want a hard wax oil that is not toxic at all for my cats as I am 65 years old and they are all I have left that I love. What do you recommend with all things considered to seal about 450 square ft ?Thank you View answer

I am ordering Rubio Monocoat for my hardwood floors. I have a few questions. I am interested in purchasing the raw wood cleaner and the natural soap that is recommended in the application instructions. I don't think they are available on your site. Do you have alternate products that you recommend? Also, are the application and buffer pads that you show the regular nylon pads that would come with the floor buffer that I would rent? Lastly, I'm mixing two colors 1/2 and 1/2. If I store the extra - will it sit ok with the colors mixed together, or should I only mix them in each batch as I go, the way I'd mix in the step 2 oil. I know. This is an art project and I'm on my own. But, I thought I'd just ask in case. Thank you so much. View answer

Hi Sasha,I asked earlier about the Rubio oil being adequate to seal formaldehyde. You said no and sent me a list of other products by AFM that would possibly work. The project involved is particle board walls which need to be sealed to be safe for me. Because I am so exquisitely sensitive to formaldehyde, it would need to be the best one. Can you let me know which one this would be? Thank you, Micheila View answer
