There is wallpaper in the home I am purchasing. I would prefer not to remove it because of lead paint concerns. I was told that in order to paint directly over the wallpaper, it needed to be sealed with an oil-based primer first, so it doesn't loosen. Will AFM Safecoat Primer work for this, or do I need another type of product? If so, what would be recommended (I want something No-VOC)? Thanks for your help. View answer

I'm a manufacturer of Cross Laminated Timber made from softwood. We're getting clients that want finished surfaces for floors, walls, and ceilings. Would this product perform well if applied in the factory and then shipped to client? Would we then inform them of the product and send this Oil Wax in a repair kit once its installed? Thank you! I've applied an oil based poly to my wood floors. it's humid in my locale and I've had an issue with moisture in the subfloor during the summer. I was told I need to apply a breathable finish (after I take up the oil poly) and that water based poly is more permeable. Is the Monocoat breathable? Is it more vapor permeable than water based poly? View answer

Looking at buying a home with knotty pine paneling, flooring, and cabinets. The previous owner smoked and the smell is lingering throughout the home. We suspect they were stained with an oil based product, along with an oil based polyurethane finish. Is there anything we can do to encapsulate the smell? View answer

This product appears to be what I've been looking for to paint basement cinder block walls! Unfortunately, there is already a layer of failing paint on the walls that I have scraped/prepped. Do you have an alternative product you suggest for walls that include some bare block but some partially painted? View answer

I installed new carpet two years ago, but I could not stand the new carpet smell. Like a fool, I looked up on the internet what would reduce the smell and found out about baking soda. I sprinkled baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for 24 hours. The smell is pretty much gone. But since then I have not been able to get rid of the baking soda in the carpet. It gives me a sore throat and nose bleeds because every time I vacuum the small baking soda particles go back into the air and dries it out. No matter how many times I vacuum or carpet clean I can't get all the baking soda out of the carpet. Will this product seal the the baking soda in the carpet, so there is not an issue with fine dust in the air anymore? View answer

I am putting in a western red cedar tongue and groove ceiling in our campervan: approximately 6' wide and 10'long. How much might I need (wondering if I should get smaller cans vs. The larger ones) and is this the best product to use for this application? It will encounter moisture from cooking (although we do have fans) Thanks! View answer

I purchased new furniture about six weeks ago. My roommate is reacting to it and we think it may be the undersides of the tables and chairs which are painted but feel rough to the touch. The tops of the tables and chairs seem fine. Would it work to use the Safecoat Hard Seal on the undersides over a layer of paint, or would the whole table need to be treated? Is there another product that would be more appropriate for this application? View answer
