What would you recommend to seal the area where the backsplash meets the counter in a kitchen, that is clear? I'm looking for the least toxic, least VOC available. I was looking at "Rescue Bond 2 in 1 Sealant & Adhesive" because it is zero VOC, no toluene, isocyanates, solvents, phthalates, or any other harsh chemicals, but it only seems to come in white. Is there anything similarly eco friendly like this that comes in clear? View answer

We have a covered porch with a floor of 5/4" x 6" pine decking boards (with a small space between them) over 2x8 joists 20" o.c. that are exposed to weather below. We would like to turn the porch into a 3-season room with waterproof cork for flooring. What kind of subfloor & underlayment would be needed between the decking boards & the cork? Thanks for your help & wonderful products! View answer

Hi, I'm hoping someone can answer this that has a lot of experience with the products as I don't want to mess up my cabinets and flooring by sealing them incorrectly. I bought a 4.5 year old home and I am not feeling well in the home. It's probably outgassing? The flooring is a wood laminate. Are there any products that could be used to seal the laminate floor? Any other suggestions if not? And also, what about cabinets. Is there a seal for the cabinets given they are not painted but stained a dark espresso color? I would not want to mess up the finishes on them but at the same time I cannot be sick in my home so any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. I will do what it takes to be stay healthy. Thank you View answer

If a dog pees on the floor or some other large quantity of liquid spills (especially if you are not able to clean it up right away) would you have to pull up planks to clean it? I get that the planks are waterproof but how does this prevent liquid from getting under them onto the vapor barrier? View answer

We are looking to apply a natural penetrating oil to our floors. We're concerned with the application process involving a buffer. We have 2 x 120 sq ft areas, a smaller 60 sq ft area and 2 small hallways (6'x3'); we don't think that using a full size floor buffer will be very easy in small spaces. Is it advisable to use a orbital sander with a buffer pad? Is there any additional application resources we could reference outside of the pdf? View answer

I have some new Sauder furniture that has raw particle board on the edges. Even the wood parts that have been finished have the odor. Should I use the safe seal on the raw edges and the hard seal on the finished parts, or can I use the hard seal on the raw edges and the finished parts? I just need to seal in so no off gassing. Thank you. View answer

I have a home with cedar siding that's very weathered and has had Penofin applied to it a couple of times - at least 10 years ago. There are areas where it looks like varnish was applied when the house was originally built in the '50's which would have to be sanded. Everything is mildewed/darkened but overall a cleaning and a brightener would probably bring the wood back to its original color. I am looking for a product to apply that will protect the wood, resist mildew/mold growth, last for several years and be able to be reapplied without having to sand prior to reapplication. What do you recommend? View answer

I intend to use your product on raised garden beds made of untreated pine. The sides on the inside of the beds will be lined with pond liner. Will I have to use a product for inside and outside? - - Also, will the stain yellow the color of my natural wood? - - Also, how often does the product have to be applied? Once a year???? I am going to put "Donkey Island" in our butler pantry, laundry room and a small guest bathroom. I am looking at Natural Cherry wood for cupboards in the pantry. I will put in the same wood in the laundry in the lower cupboards and blue cupboards above. The color I choose for the blue was Sherwin Williams "Favorite Jeans". Do you thinking that Favorite Jeans blue color is a good pick to go along with the Donkey island flooring? I am picking out Silestone Statuario for our countertops. I would love you opinion on these items since we will be purchasing the donkey island flooring. Thanks, Heidi Halverson View answer

Can I seal unpainted wood toys with either the Polyureseal BP or Hardseal? I know it says non-toxic but I'm not sure if this applies to the liquid or cured state of the finish. Toddlers like to put stuff in their mouth and I need to be sure this is non-toxic when that happens. View answer
