I'm looking to get the toxic smell out of my kitchen cabinets, which are brand new. I'm not really looking to paint them since they are white and I love the color. Which products would be best to use with this process? I'm reading about the Polyureseal (satin and gloss). I believe the cabinets made from wood. View answer

Can the SafeCoat Polyureseal BP be applied over a water-based urethane modified alkyd paint with the look and feel of an alkyd/oil finish? This is a hybrid type paint trying to intermix the benefits of oil and water-based products. Specifically, I am using Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel paint on bedroom furniture. It is water-based, but they explained to me that it is water encapsulating an oil to allow for easier application and clean-up, but what remains is the oil. So I'm wondering if I can use the Polyureseal BP over it? Thanks. View answer

According to your website, the SafeCoat Polyureseal BP cannot be applied over oil-based polyurethanes or oil-based products. Does this include oil-based stain, such as Minwax? Wood Finish? 250 VOC Compliant, a penetrating oil-based wood stain? If so, are there stains that you would recommend instead? View answer

I recently purchased SafeCoat wood stain and am very happy with it! However, when I went to apply the SafeCoat Polyureseal BP (satin finish) to the dining room table I have stained, on reading the directions it said that I HAD to use 1 or 2 coats of glossy finish Polyureseal first if I wanted to get a matte finish? Do I really need to order a glossy quart now, as well, in order to achieve a matte finish? What happens if I just use 2 to 3 coats of the satin finish? View answer

I am installing T&G Douglas Fir flooring in a small (200 sq ft) hermitage. The cabin is located in an organic garden so I certainly want to use an environmentally friendly product. The cabin will not get a lot of foot traffic (200 sq ft doesn't allow for a lot of feet). I am trying to keep the cost down. Which of your products would you recommend? View answer

I have willow sculptures (wooden branches) which are used as space separator. And I have to work next to them all day. By the end of the day I feel like I was eating them ) So would this finish help to seal everything (smell) coming from the branches? I do not want any smell from the seal itself , It should be really eco and safe. So do you think this polish would work for me? View answer

I installed some wood flooring about 1.5 years ago in a rental. Used low-grade plywood that I cut into planks and installed for a rustic look. The tenants have been complaining about urethane smell - and I started looking for a solution and found you guys. However, after more thinking/research I don't think it's the oil-based urethane that's the problem but possible off gassing of formaldehyde. I already have oil-based polyurethane on the floors - so I'm not sure which product you think might work best to seal over what's there and help protect against more off gassing. View answer
