Hello! I am looking for a non-toxic top coat for a solid wood dining table (pine) that has been stained with ecopaints stain. We are looking for a matte top coat that has little to no shine and that will help protect the table top from food/stains and also make it easier to wipe down with a wet cloth. Can you advise which product you would recommend? View answer

We had a leak and mold in the walls in the bathroom/bedroom and it was professionally remediated but I still smell the mold and am affected by it. Before fixing the walls, I was going to just paint the studs with this but just saw in Q&A to use a primer first. I was thinking it would be better if the Caliwell touched the wood to kill any spores/mold deep in it left behind and maybe coat it twice. Is this good or will the primer followed by this work best? How flexible are the tiles? We currently have vinyl tiles laid over the top of asbestos tiles using some kind of cheap stick-on method like double-sided tape. My plan is to pull up the vinyl tiles and replace with marmoleum tiles (over the top of the old asbestos tiles, without disturbing them). However, our old house is very crooked and the floor has lots of waves etc in it, and the new tiles would need to flex a bit to conform to the shape of the house. If it's totally rigid tile I don't think it would work. This is a floor that spans a small kitchen and a bathroom. View answer

The room I want to put this in is a living room that has large picture windows on almost all sides and we get a lot of direct sunlight. The room is 30 x 17 and I am wondering if it will fade. If I put a rug in the middle of the living room and pick it up a year or two later will I be able to see that where the rug was is darker, that a lot of the floor has faded? Thanks. View answer

I have recently stripped some wallpaper and am now left with drywall that has some glue and quite a few little places where th drywall paper covering has pulled away. My understanding is that the conventional process to deal with this is to apply an oil based sales, then skim coat, then sand, then prime and paint. I am looking for something less toxic for the first two steps of this process(oil based sealer and skim coat with joint compound). Would this project work in lieu of the oil based sealer? If so, would it be ok to do a skim coat over it? View answer

Does AFM SafeCoat, Concrete Floor Paint block formaldehyde emissions? At first I was looking at AFM Safecoat Safeseal to put on part of the concrete floor to seal in formaldehyde, but that's only for plywood type surfaces apparently. But I liked that one because it blocked/sealed formaldehyde 100% and was very low VOC (around 22). View answer

I have a solid wood birch desk, it is finished but the grommet holes are not. I have sample of soft seal and hard seal. I know soft seal is not recommended on solid wood, but hard seal is? Would it be ok to use hard seal to protect these grommet holes or would I need to get sample of polyureseal bp? Which smells more? View answer
