Ref: Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus 2C Interior Stain and Seal Kit. I would be using this on new plywood cabinetry inside my van. I plan to do all the sealing, staining, and curing of the wood pieces outside the van. My concern is spontaneous combustion of the cured oil-stained wood on a hot sunny 120 deg. F day when the interior surfaces baked by the sun can reach temperatures of over 180 deg. F. Will this be safe to use in this situation or should I only consider water-based sealers and stains? Would this work on a dining room table? I recently refinished and am at raw wood. Am trying to understand best path forward? If I can use this, do I need a polymer sealer as well? Also am thinking of ordering samples of colors, can they be mixed to create further colors? View answer

I am ordering Rubio Monocoat for my hardwood floors. I have a few questions. I am interested in purchasing the raw wood cleaner and the natural soap that is recommended in the application instructions. I don't think they are available on your site. Do you have alternate products that you recommend? Also, are the application and buffer pads that you show the regular nylon pads that would come with the floor buffer that I would rent? Lastly, I'm mixing two colors 1/2 and 1/2. If I store the extra - will it sit ok with the colors mixed together, or should I only mix them in each batch as I go, the way I'd mix in the step 2 oil. I know. This is an art project and I'm on my own. But, I thought I'd just ask in case. Thank you so much. View answer

I've applied an oil based poly to my wood floors. it's humid in my locale and I've had an issue with moisture in the subfloor during the summer. I was told I need to apply a breathable finish (after I take up the oil poly) and that water based poly is more permeable. Is the Monocoat breathable? Is it more vapor permeable than water based poly? View answer

I have a raw wood countertop and I love the light wood color and do not want it to "yellow" when sealing it. If I get the 5% white stain, will this compensate for the "yellowing"? Also, when applying the stain, will it darken if you overlap when applying it? for example, when i applied one of your darker stains on another counter, one coat was perfect, but I had to do some touch-ups and everywhere i touched-up was extra dark from the stain overlapping. Is this the same with the lighter colors? View answer

I am wanting to use your Rubio Monocoat, Oil Plus 2C, Interior Stain Kit on my HEMLOCK flooring. I would love to finish to look like the current sanded raw wood. We sampled the PURE (clear) and it added a sheen and a slight amber. Do you have a color you would suggest it I want the wood to appear 'untreated'? I know it needs some sheen as a matte finish shows everything.Thank you View answer
