HELP! We have a 2 inch pine T&G floor in our cabin that doubles as our floor and subfloor over an unheated crawl space. We suspect mold is coming up from the crawl space and need to seal off the pine floor. We would like to put cork down ... what barrier do we put down over the pine and under the cork? The pine floor is finished with 3 coats of Ecos paints brand tinted varnish. View answer

We plan to install floating cork flooring over cement slab at grade. A moisture barrier like Moisture Block is needed as our real-life experience of moisture migrates from the ground up, through cement. We also want QuietWalk: it's insulative, cushioning & moisture wicking. The cork floor manufacturer's installation pdf says don't install the floor over an underlayment more than 1/8" (0.125) thick. QuietWalk is .13" thick (.05" too thick). Plus .006" thick Moisture Block would exceed max allowable thickness by .056. I saw in another Q&A using both may be overkill, but I feel we need both. I'm confused about exceeding the manufacturer's allowed underlayment thickness. Can you clear up any confusion and can I use both underlayments together? View answer

Is AFM WaterShield the right product to apply to the walls in a bathroom to repel moisture? The previous owner of my home had a bathroom (with shower) built, with NO fan to deal with moisture in the air when the shower is running. When I use this shower I use a window fan to push the moist air out, but, lots of moisture collects on the walls/ceiling in the bathroom. No issues with mold/mildew. How can I make these walls more hydrophobic so when the shower is used, the condensation that collects doesn't stick so readily, allowing the walls to dry more quickly after being wiped down. I will get a bathroom fan installed eventually but I want to add a water repellent on the walls (applied on top of the wall paint). Any product suggestions? View answer

Can the warped boards be replaced by the new ones or do I just need to live with the situation? View answer
