Our basement had mold in it, we have since corrected the problem and had the mold cleaned up. It was recommended that we seal the basement floor and walls to prevent excess water from entering the basement (exterior underground walls are already sealed). We have a home gym in the basement so are very concerned with respiratory health. What indoor concrete sealer would you recommend? and also plan on adding rubber flooring panels in the gym area. So, according to your installation guidelines, your surface prep instructs "If water drops fail to penetrate quickly, surface may need additional attention to create proper surface profile." Unfortunately for us, our garage floor was sealed, 20+ years ago, and still holds up quite well repelling liquids. This space will specifically be used for living area. I've done a LOT of research, and it seems the acid etch will not be sufficient to create a proper surface profile. Can you verify that my only option would be to use a concrete grinder to adequately prepare the floor surface for application of this product? Thanks! View answer

Hi. My contractor used Great Stuff Gap and Cracks spray foam to seal cracks throughout our under-construction home. Due to asthma, allergies, and general sensitivity to chemicals and smells, I had specifically requested no high VOC materials, poly-isocyanates, polyurethane, etc. -- all of which are in this product. They used the foam where the subfloor meets the wall, around plumbing penetrations, and around electrical boxes. Removing the spray foam is dangerous and maybe impossible. Can I seal the foam to prevent a lifetime of off-gassing? Would Hard Seal work for that purpose? Or is there some other approach? Thanks! View answer

Are NCS color codes available? Asking because the manufacturer is in Germany and many European companies use this system to communicate color. For example, the Forbo site has NCS codes for all their lino products. Very helpful when trying to color match to existing surfaces or fabrics. View answer

I've built a flat file art cabinet that's has big drawers (20"x 40") out of sanded plywood. Wood came from Ecuador (smells awful) it's off gassing in the garage for 2 months and it still smells. Would you recommend SafeSeal or Hard Seal for the drawer bottoms or something else? All chemicals/smells need to be sealed as it will be in my bedroom.1. When coating is it best to do the tops of the drawers, let it cure for a day, then flip the drawers and do the bottoms, or can I do both in 1 day?2. SafeSeal and Hard Seal say don't use over oil based products. I primed/painted the cabinets with oil based paint, then painted over with fusions mineral waterbased paint, can I use Safe or HardSeal to seal in that color on the outside of the cabinet? I am planning to fill in a relatively deep and wide gap between a concrete porch and the front door of the house. (It is currently covered over with duct tape.) The DIY recommendation seems to be "backer rod plus caulk." The home owner asked me to use clear caulk, which is one reason I am looking at this product. Am I understanding the product restrictions correctly, that this will not adhere to backer rod (because it is a type of plastic?) Thank you. View answer

Is there any difference between the regular air purifying paint and the "ECOS OUTLET UNTINTED" paint? Sometimes "outlet" items (from other companies) can have some quality difference, even if it's minor. Thank you for your time and your great products, really love the ECOS paints. View answer
