I have a basement wall that is damp but at one time the wall was coated with a thin plaster and then painted. Over time the dampness of the concrete has caused portions of the wall to crumble. Must I remove the remaining plaster and paint before painting on a penetrating sealer? View answer

Can I install this product in a bathroom and/or kitchen where water will be getting on the floor often? Originally, I was thinking this type of product would come in sheets that would minimize water getting below the tiles. If it can be installed in a bathroom, is there a special way to install it to keep it from allowing water penetration to the subfloor? View answer

We are thinking of purchasing strand bamboo flooring (USFloors Ming) and using this underneath. Do we still need a vapor barrier between the concrete and the cork underlayment or can you forgo the plastic underlayment (just cork and flooring)? We live in Florida, a very humid climate if that is relevant. View answer

I can see in other Q&A's Marmoleum is not a good choice as an area rug over a hardwood floor in a high traffic area. Can't I superglue a grippy felt pad underneath and then lay it on a hardwood floor? For under a dining room table and chairs. Also considering making another rug under an island seating area, w/ bar stools. That's a lot of dragging of chairs, which could have pads on the legs. I'm not sure how I'd border the "rug" so that it doesn't get nicked. Maybe some carpet trim upholstery sewn onto the marmoleum and attached felt rug pad? I thought I could stencil a design onto the marmoleum and then seal it. (Using low-voc products, of course.) Any creative ideas? The horrible-for-the-planet vinyl floorclothes look amazing! Help me! I need to paint a wooden bench. The wood is not treated an unpainted. So, I need a safe non-toxic paint which would also protect the bench placed on patio. The best way would be to have a clear coat to have wood structure visible, but just a paint will also work. Could you please recommend a solution? Thank you. View answer

I'm trying to choose between using the sheet or the click for a residential art room. I see that the click is water resistant. Would the click be problematic if a bowl of water was spilled but cleaned immediately. Also, the room would have a large heavy solid wood table in the middle. Would the clicks buckle from weight? Has anyone put a coat of gloss over a coat of matte? I had someone do my floors with this and discovered after the final coat that I have enough extra gloss left over for a 4th coat and wonder what it might look like. I'd rather add a layer for durability than waste it, but not if it's going to look bad. I'm not real concerned if it comes out a little glossier, but don't want "milky," but it's over a very light natural maple so maybe it won't appear "milky?" View answer
