The Bona cleaner is formulated for unwaxed, un-oiled, polyurethane finished wood floors. If your floors are truly and completely unfinished (unlikely if the house was built in the 70's) then we'd advise against it. Chances are the dirt has become ground into the wood. No cleaners will remove all of the dirt because the dirt is now beneath the surface. Sanding will be your best option and then finishing with one of our water-based or oil-based sealers, i.e. Vermeister Zero, Polyureseal BP or Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C.
