Currently have 20 yr old cork flooring in our home I want to replace to keep the sustainable nature the designers initially intended. Much of the floor has dramatically faded due to sunlight. Will sanding floor bring back the original color? We have floating cork planks in kitchen over radiant floor heating (buckled from water damage, have large floor gaps) and glue down cork squares in areas with baseboard heating. Your website seems to say the Waterproof CORK look floors need to be initially top coated then regularly resanded and varnished to make them waterproof while the wood look is maintenance free? If the cork flooring is truly waterproof why do you need a moisture barrier to install over a concrete basement floor? I would be concerned that I would be trapping moisture underneath the floor rather than letting it escape. This escaped moisture would then be sent out using a dehumidifier.
