What sealant is best to waterproof between boards/around edges? I want to use the most green/low VOC sealant possible. I imagine I will use safecoat around the edges, I also imagine that caulk would look ugly between boards. What do you recommend? Will be floating over an old vinyl floor with asbestos glue we don't want to disturb. View answer

The Amorim Waterproof Cork Flooring is advertised as 100% waterproof and the ads show the floor in a room with several inches of water. Why then do the installation instructions recommend gluing the floor in bathroom/kitchens or sealing the joints to prevent water penetration? View answer

I have a sample of the Wicanders cork flooring, and I can easily put scratches in it with my fingernail. Is the Amorim waterproof cork surface more resistant to scratching (thinking pet toenails), and if is scratched through the finish wouldn't that then allow water infiltration? View answer

Currently have 20 yr old cork flooring in our home I want to replace to keep the sustainable nature the designers initially intended. Much of the floor has dramatically faded due to sunlight. Will sanding floor bring back the original color? We have floating cork planks in kitchen over radiant floor heating (buckled from water damage, have large floor gaps) and glue down cork squares in areas with baseboard heating. Your website seems to say the Waterproof CORK look floors need to be initially top coated then regularly resanded and varnished to make them waterproof while the wood look is maintenance free? If additional top coating is needed for the cork look why is the price different from regular cork flooring? Thoughts on Osmo Polyx-Oil? View answer

If the cork flooring is truly waterproof why do you need a moisture barrier to install over a concrete basement floor? I would be concerned that I would be trapping moisture underneath the floor rather than letting it escape. This escaped moisture would then be sent out using a dehumidifier. I just want to make sure I'm not creating another health risk my trapping the moisture. View answer
