Hello, I am looking for a product to waterproof a birch 1 3/4" thick butcher block countertop in our bathroom, what would you recommend? Since the countertop is for a vanity, it will see plenty of water and I would like a non-toxic finish that can resist water. The countertop will not be stained or sealed unless that is recommended. We have an infant on the way and want to use a non-toxic product but don't necessarily need it to be food safe. Thank you for your help! View answer

I have 2 inch thick white oak countertops. 4 months ago I naturally "stained" them with a water and coffee combo. They have been dry for 4 months. Can I use this- safe coat naturals clear penetrating oil- over them as they are? Or do I have to try to sand out the dry coffee stain. (Online most people coffee stain with coffee and vinegar, I did not do that.) Thank you!! View answer

Can this product (AFM SafeCoat, Naturals Clear Penetrating Oil) be used to reapply over wood that was previously treated with a penetrating oil stain applied three-four years ago? (It would be applied to an outdoor shed that the previous owner had treated, approximately 280 sq feet total surface area.) View answer

In NOTE-5 under Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Ext. Stain, it says the stain can be used over oil finish and stain. Can I use this stain over Clear Penetrating Oil? Our outdoor cedar furniture just received their new fresh Safecoat penetrating oil coat. So we sand them a little just to roughen the surface? Or sand down to raw wood? View answer

What would you recommend for a front door finish? The door is new and made of walnut. It is not on the sunny side of our house and is set into the stone of the house. We purchased Safecoat Penetrating Oil for the cherry floors. Would that product work on an exterior application or do you suggest a different product? View answer
