I bought an antique painted cabinet, painted green. I want to use it in the kitchen so I want to cover the paint with something. Is AFM SafeCoat Acrylacq a good choice? The description says "Raw wooden stained or previously painted cabinetry," Does that mean it can go on painted wood or wood that was painted and then had the paint removed??? Or is AFM SafeCoat, Polyureseal BP a better choice??? View answer

I have previously used polyurethane to Seal tongue and groove in my house. Obviously it is toxic and the fumes are disgusting. What do you recommend to use on tongue and groove in a bathroom including the shower ceiling that would give me a semi gloss look and the protection i need? View answer

I see that to get the best natural wood look, I should use gloss for first coat and then the satin. I have your Safecoat Hardseal product in gloss. Would this be ok to use with the acrylaq? Do I even need the acrylaq or should I order the Safecoat Hardseal in satin? Its for a kitchen table. View answer

I just finished overhauling some ratty wood outdoor rocking chairs. I primed them with water based Latex wood primer then hand painted them with acrylic paints. I am looking for a glossy non yellowing water based top coat to seal them .. would this work? Does this item work well for items outside in heat and cold? Does it have any UV resistant properties? The chairs will sit under a covered porch so they won't be directly exposed to weather extremes. View answer

I bought a piece of wood furniture, used, that has a perfume smell (most likely from being polished with a scented wood polish and probably petroleum distillates in it). I can smell the perfume scent when I am near the furniture. I cannot just wash it off/out as it has penetrated the wood. What is the best product to use to coat the entire piece, inside and out (it's a hutch/cabinet piece) so that the perfume odor is blocked/encapsulated and no longer releasing into my home's air? Thank you! View answer

I saw a video regarding the difference in color between the AFM SafeCoat Polyureseal BP sheens (gloss is milky white, clear, and the satin and (I assume) matte are colored. The video states that they both dry clear, but the satin and matte may build up a color on the surface if more than one coat is used. Here is my question: will the Acrylacq in matte also do this? Is it clear or muddy like the satin/matte Polyureseal BP? I have white kitchen cabinets that I want to keep a matte sheen, but not change the color with several coats of sealer. View answer

Currently painting our interior hardwoods floors with porch and patio paint. The color is a cream/light grey color. We applied one coat of satin, water based polyurethane sealant and the floors turned yellow. Applied with roller as it is too large of an area to apply with brush. Tried to not apply too thick. Will your sealant NOT turn the floors yellow?? And can it be applied with a roller?? View answer

We have an oak cabinet (veneer shelves and sides, solid doors and trim) that was built about 30 years ago by a local carpenter. We love it but it has had a "doggie doo" smell inside ever since we got it when it was new. It still does! It looks totally normal, but when you open the doors, there it is. Humidity seems to make it worse. We do not know what kind of finish it has, but it is not bare wood. Do you have any suggestions on how we could mitigate this problem? It was less an issue when we lived in Arizona, but here in Indiana it has gotten worse. View answer

The drawers are a plywood and the inside of the dresser itself is painted. Which one of your products do you recommend to seal the drawers and the inside of the dresser? The dresser finish is a matte or a satin white. View answer

Im looking to seal art made up of many different types of materials (wood, paper, paint, metal, everything...) - I'm looking for it to be crystal clear and not have much in way of harmful chemicals. I realize this product isn't it since it looks like its for mainly wood - any suggestions on an all purpose clear sealant thats also archival? Thanks in advance! View answer
