I am looking to use chalk paint to paint unfinished solid pine bookshelves. I was told that I need to seal the wood first so that it would not bleed through the paint. Would AFM safecoat hard seal be the best option as a primer before the paint? *Please note one of the bookshelves was painted with water based paint. Would AFM safecoat hard seal work as a primer for both the unfinished and painted surface? Thank you! View answer

I'm putting up new drywall and want to know which afm products are best suited to seal off toxic off gassing. From what I read, is it afm transitional primer and afm safecoat ? Or do I use afm new wallboard prime coat in replacement of the transitional primer? Will it have the same encapsulation properties? View answer

I need to paint the steel beams in my basement We put our house in 30 years ago and never bothered to paint them and now it is obvious they need paint and I believe primer. Is your paint safe to use in a low ventilated area? I have fans and a couple of small windows. Will pilots need to be shut off prior to painting? Is the paint a paint and primer or is that 2 different products? View answer

I have a problem with a dark tar and gravel roof that doesn't leak, it just gets full sun and makes an incredibly hot attic (over 100 degrees) and huge summer AC bills. The attic has unpainted rafter boards. Can I apply this with some semi-gloss paint to the exterior on top of the tar and gravel? Secondly, I saw you advise another person to apply the paint inside the attic. Can I also spray the unpainted wood rafters on the underside of the roof to get more protection? View answer

Is this the right choice to seal a wooden framed catio that looks like it's inexpensive finish won't hold up over time? I want to keep it on a covered porch. I want it to be well sealed so I can clean any cat pee off easily. What is the best product to use for this purpose? Is there something I can use without having to sand every surface? View answer

Hello, Do I need a carpet cleaning machine to use this product? And part 2, Can this product remove an enzyme cleaner that I used in a small spot on my rug? About 2 feet by 2 feet. I thought it had only enzymes, but in fact there is an unpleasant and troubling fragrant odor. It was supposed to dissipate when dry. That was 3 days ago and it is unbearable for me. (I have spoken to the company but they are not helpful.) Will all 3 products work together to get rid of this odor, even if it's caused by a fragranced spray for urine removal? Or an I just use this carpet cleaner? thanks, Claire View answer

I have read that cork flooring does not do well in places where there are extremes in temperature. We would like to lay cork over a tile floor in Phoenix Arizona where there can be 30 degree changes in temperature in one day, and temps ranging from the 40 in the winter to 115 in the summer. Humidity is usually low - it is 17% today. Of course, our homes are AC/heat controlled, but failures can happen. Will cork floors work in this setting? View answer

I have a paperstone kitchen counter and have ordered the paperstone cleaner and rejuvenator from you previously. Do you still carry it and/or know who might? Or recommend a substitute cleaner and rejuvenator for paperstone. It has a lot of watermarks around the sink area and some fading spots from sun light. Any recommendations are most appreciated.
