I'm installing new carpet in a bedroom that is located above an attached garage, there is old carpet glue on top of the subfloor. I'd like to use something to seal in any past pollutants that's made its way to the subfloor and any future ones from the garage. Would this product work over old carpet glue on wood subfloor and under new carpet? View answer

What sealant is best to waterproof between boards/around edges? I want to use the most green/low VOC sealant possible. I imagine I will use safecoat around the edges, I also imagine that caulk would look ugly between boards. What do you recommend? Will be floating over an old vinyl floor with asbestos glue we don't want to disturb. View answer

Hi,Per the description above, 'This floor CAN NOT be floated . Installation: nail or glue into any environment with 35-55% relative humidity'. I read this article below 'Is bamboo flooring safer than hardwood for a desert environment?' which suggests a floating installation for dry climates. - My Question; Does this mean this product would not be suited for Arizona where we have low humidity all year round, and could not float this product per the specs. We would have to glue it to the cement. Thank you for your help! View answer

I'm looking for a flooring solution for my short term rental (Airbnb) in Wyoming. This is my first winter in the house, and the humidity is constantly reading 24-26%. Although I'd love to offer the luxury of a hardwood floor, a floating Marmoleum floor seems to make the most sense for the dry air, traffic, cleaning, etc. Any experience with Marmoleum in the dry northern Rocky Mountain region? I'm also considering Kahrs engineered, but wood seems very risky. View answer

Is Drybarrier an acceptable subfloor for this wood-like cork flooring material? If so, what underlayment would also be recommended? Planning to install in a concrete basement below grade. As of right now, moisture is no problem but we did have water infiltration one time after our sump pump malfunctioned (less than 1/8" water on the floor) so I'm trying to plan for the worst despite it not being the norm. Thank you! View answer

I am building an outdoor dining table that will be under a large canopy on a patio so it won't be exposed to direct rain, snow or sun. The frame is heat-treated pallet lumber and the top is reclaimed lumber with some of the boards affected by dry rot (I'm chiseling out the dry rot).I'd like to use as natural products as possible for the finish. I will likely paint the frame / legs and I'll like to put a clear, satin finish on the top. A couple of specific questions:1. Do you sell or recommend any will filler for filling the larger dry rotted areas? 2. What do you recommend for a clear satin finish for the top? 3. What do you recommend for painting the frame and legs? Thank you very much! View answer

A bedroom I painted with zero VOC paint still smells after a year and makes me sick (gives me a headache and sinus congestion). it's a sweet odor that my husband can barely smell, but it's very strong to me. I'm very sensitive to chemicals. Will the AFM HardSeal safely seal in any off gassing that is occurring? View answer

I've a project with several slabs of raw live-edge Saman Acacia wood installed as kitchen counters, vanity top, and as a breakfast nook. The project is in the midwest (high humidity area) and need to ensure the finish is waterproof (around the undermount sink and in a bathroom) and does not require frequent maintenance. While a poly coating would likely be the best waterproofing option, we don't want to cover our raw wood with a plastic-looking coat and prefer to be able to spot refinish. We've had Bioshield #9 recommended to us but I wanted to see if AFM penetrating oil or AFM oil wax would be a better option in terms of waterproofing and longevity for my Saman Acacia? View answer

Good Afternoon, Mr. Goj, I want to paint the interior of a terracotta pot to seal it with the AFM Safecoat DynoSeal (dark color). After decoupaging the exterior of the pot, I want to seal it with the AFM Polyureseal EXT Satin (clear color). Is there a certain temperature range, they should be applied? And a level of humidity? I was going to apply indoors, if it was safe. it's been raining and a little cooler, outdoors. I purchased the samples, and will probably be buying the regular size at some point. I thank you so much for your time. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year. View answer
