Looking for a non toxic alternative to Kilz sealer for subfloor before new carpet install. Will this work? Subfloor had dog urine damage in spots, so it was sanded and bleached to resurface the subfloor before new carpet install. Installers recommended using Kilz before installation but I'm hoping for a safer product since I baby will be in the house. View answer

Can Caliwel be painted over Penetrating Concrete Sealer? We have some moisture in our basement well room. The walls are concrete block and we get efflorescence and mold on them. I'd like to keep the mold at bay in there, would the concrete sealer be enough or would we also need Caliwel to prevent mold growth from humidity? (We live in Minnesota, quite humid in the summers and very dry in the winter.) We aren't planning to do anything extraordinary to manage the air moisture in there, there is a door that connects to our finished family room that allows some air to move through the well room . Perhaps the penetrating concrete sealer would be enough? View answer

I have a sample of UVL Troy in soft honey and it is exactly what I've been looking for BUT the wool is very very soft and I am worried that it will become fuzzy and worn looking in a short time. In reading the reviews here I see that it sheds a lot. I can deal with that. I also I would like to use my Dyson battery stick on the carpet and I wonder if the brush, which is not overly harsh and works fine on my old wool carpeting, will turn the soft loops into fuzzy lumps? I am considering linoleum kitchen counters from a very design-forward kitchen company (I believe they use Forbo Furniture Linoleum, as the colors/names are all the same.) The kitchen company states that you can't put anything hotter than 70 Celsius on it. I'm fine using trivets for hot pots and pans, but I just want to make sure that one can put, say, a hot bowl of soup or hot mug of tea on it without damage? Also, how resistant (or not) is it to water damage? Will a glass of water leave a ring? Can you not have an undermounted sink with linoleum counters? What else do I need to be aware of when considering linoleum kitchen counters? View answer
