There is wallpaper in the home I am purchasing. I would prefer not to remove it because of lead paint concerns. I was told that in order to paint directly over the wallpaper, it needed to be sealed with an oil-based primer first, so it doesn't loosen. Will AFM Safecoat Primer work for this, or do I need another type of product? If so, what would be recommended (I want something No-VOC)? Thanks for your help. View answer

Our 110 plus year old floors are old growth pine that show their nails (from being refinished too many times, by previous owners.) I have noticed that the wood look uses rPET or recycled polyethylene terephthalate from water bottles as the top coat. Does the rPET leach out and/or outgas the heavy mental antimony that is used in the manufacturing of PET. Antimony is a heavy metal that is a suspected carcinogen. Since PET in general is considered a one time use plastic that when heated or scratched can possibility release this heavy metal. Since this is a top coat in the cork wood grain product, which has high scratch resistance and I assume no issues with heat, is there any possibility of Antimony being released into the air and/or leaching?
