I have installed pressure treated wood as the beams beneath my kitchen. The beams are at least 24 inches above the ground and have been treated with afm safe coat safe seal or hard seal I'm not sure which. But I had an allergic reaction to the wood chips that got on my sweater and am considering replacing the wood with pine. Would this product be correct for that? The house is in florida and is subject to termite infestation. Please advise. Thanks! View answer

1) I am wondering if this can be used over a bookshelf finished in a shiny "grey painted lacquer". (I am not sure if it is made out of oil-based polyurethane or an oil-based product and can't seem to figure it out.) I am chemically sensitive and am almost about to throw the shelf out, but it was expensive so I'm trying to give this a shot first. (For the record, this horrible shelf hasn't stopped off-gassing for over a year. I've had to keep it in our storage room because I can't stand the smell.) Do you think this product would work? 2) If this would work, and I also wanted to paint the shelf white, would I paint it before I put this on or after? I was planning on using milk paint. Thank you in advance. View answer

I would like to use this sealer on my grouted counter-top tiles. However I have a number of burgeoning culinary masters, aged 4 thru 9, who are still getting the basic concepts of after-cooking clean up. Will this sealer protect my grout against stains from grape jelly, mustard, turmeric, blueberry juice and (for my sanity) wine? View answer

My husband and I are planning a kitchen remodel and are considering putting in butcher block or wood countertops. We've never had wood countertops before and in doing some research found out that there can be a lot of upkeep with oiling monthly. We are also concerned about water damage to the wood around the sink area, or from someone leave a glass of water on the counter that may have some water on the bottom of the glass. Do you have a food-safe product that is also powerful enough for kitchen countertops to handle water and liquids? We may be good at trying to quickly wipe up water from the counter, but kids are another story! Also, how often would it need to be reapplied in the future after the initial application? View answer

Can I use this over a water based stain on a CVG doug fir floor? I read fir takes water based stains better than oil based stains, and that poly sealers are not good on fir floors. I already bought this product, now I'm wondering if it will work over the water based stain I bought. View answer

I saw a video regarding the difference in color between the AFM SafeCoat Polyureseal BP sheens (gloss is milky white, clear, and the satin and (I assume) matte are colored. The video states that they both dry clear, but the satin and matte may "build up" a color on the surface if more than one coat is used. Here is my question: will the Acrylacq in matte also do this? Is it clear or "muddy" like the satin/matte Polyureseal BP? I have white kitchen cabinets that I want to keep a matte sheen, but not change the color with several coats of sealer. View answer

I am using Densarmour plus drywall. It calls for a high solid primer because the fiberglass has a rougher texture and needs smoothing out. It calls for a 3/8 nap for roller application. will the new drywall primecoat that you sell be thick enough (High solid rating)? Thanks, Dan Barry View answer
