Sorry to hear of your predicament. Laminate flooring is difficult to seal since the off-gassing is coming from the edges which is impossible to access from above. The same holds for cabinetry. Most of the formaldehyde emits from the chipboard or particle board back, bottom and sides all of which are not accessible unless you remove the cabinets. Also our water-based sealers only work over water-based finishes and not over oil-based finishes. You could use our AFM Transitional Primer and paint to block the emissions of the doors and drawer fronts, but it would change the look and only help reduce the total emissions by a small amount since you could only paint the doors and drawers. if you really want to do what it takes, you need to get rid of the source of the problem instead of applying a band aid. Air purifiers will help a little but are never enough. Having a consultant check the amount of VOCs only provides you with verification of what you already know to be true. They are very expensive and don't solve the problem. Also, if your walls were painted, that could be part of the problem as well. It's very difficult to isolate an odor problem like this as it could be many things. I would start with removing the flooring first and then see how you feel after that.
