It might be overkill, but could the Safecoat be used over the Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey, Exterior, Penetrating Stain for additional protection? I understand that the stain already has a sealer in it.

Hello, Safecoat EXT can be applied to raw wood or wood treated with a water-based stain. You just can't use it over the top of oil-based paints and sealers. This should not be a problem. Thank you for your question!
