3 coats of the AFM SafeCoat Polyureseal BP is the best option for you to have both a durable finish as well as 100% reduction in formaldehyde off-gassing. The AFM SafeCoat Safe Seal would seal in the formaldehyde but it is not a finished, protective coat and would not give you the durability that the Polyureseal would offer.
