I am building a children's bed out of Yellow Pine for a friend and she is very conscious of VOCs and harmful chemicals. Even Tung Oil is not up to her standards. All oils have an odor when wet and most have solvents which off-gas hazardous air pollutants, like Tung Oil. Our AFM SAfecoat Naturals Oil Wax is a non-toxic product that does have a linseed odor. However, it dissipates within a few days depending upon ventilation and humidity. It is a very popular product that is easy to apply. Another popular option is our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C which is a zero VOC oil and sealer all in one. You may wish to order samples of both to test for your own tolerances.
