My husband and I recently stained a platform bed with Minwax Oil Based stain and are desperately looking for something to block the VOC's from off gassing. My husband and I recently stained a platform bed with Minwax Oil Based stain and are desperately looking for something to block the VOC's from off gassing. Our AFM Safecoat products were designed to encapsulate these hazardous VOCs. Unfortunately, they are all water-based and will not bond well to an oil-based product.There are only two options that know will solve this issue:?�1) Sand off the surface and re-apply AFM Durotone stain and then 2 coats of AFM Acrylacq.or 2) Apply Zinsser Bin Shellac and when dry, apply 2 coats of AFM Acrylacq.
