I was advised to use oil-based Rustoleum to seal indoor wicker furniture. The fumes were horrific. Two months later there is still a toxic smell. Is there a SafeCoat or other non-toxic clear sealer I can spray over the Rustoleum coat to eliminate lock in the fumes and lock in the wicker material so it doesn't deteriorate? Thanks for your help, Vivian 07-07-21

Provided enough time has passed and the Rustoleum is thoroughly dried and cleared, we recommend you test and see if AFM Safecoat Acrylacq can form a good bond over the treated wicker (if you want a clear coat). There is a risk factor here, in that the Acrylacq is a water-based product and you are trying to get that sticking to an oil-based product (water and oil don't mix), which is why the curing and testing is important first.Another option would be to paint. AFM Transitional Primer, which would work over an oil surface, followed by AFM EcoLacq.
