Hi. I see you do not recommend putting this product over an oil-based stain. However, I had tables made and the guy put a water-based polyurethane (Varathane brand) OVER his oil-based Varathane wood stain. The tables look awesome, no flaking or peeling. But they are off-gassing and the odor is bothersome. But I feel like it will be safe to put a coat of SafeCoat PolySeal BP on top since there is already a water-based finished that was put on last. Yes?

Generally, yes. Applying two to three coats of our AFM Polyureseal BP will block the VOC emissions. Please leave plenty of dry time between coats. It may take a week or two for the sealer to fully cure. Be patient.
